2024 BMW X3: Redesign, Changes, Release Date, Interior, Plug In Hybrid

0

The X3 is widely considered one of the best compact crossovers on the market. However, the competition doesn’t slip – the GLC has just been redesigned, while the next-generation Q5 is on the way. Therefore, even though the current generation of BMW’s popular model has been around since 2018, the company already prepared a full redesign. This overhaul is about to happen in the next year when we are about to see the all-new 2024 BMW X3.

At this point, the new generation is still in the testing phase. The test mule still wears a camouflage but we are pretty sure that the new model will bring mostly evolutionary changes. On the other hand, we could see some pretty big things under the hood, as the latest reports suggest three PHEV versions of the new generation. Moreover, the next model could also be offered with an all-electric powertrain.

We expect to see the 2024 BMW X3 sometime in the second half of 2023.

2024 BMW X3 Design

The 2024 BMW X3 will receive a complete redesign. One of the things that’s for sure is that most of the changes will be evolutionary, starting from the architecture. The new model will ride on a familiar CLAR platform, though we count on notable updates in various aspects. One of the things will be a new suspension and chassis setup, which would improve the ride quality even more. Also, we will see updates that will open up new possibilities in terms of powertrain, especially in terms of electrification.

As we already mentioned, the test model has been spotted on the road. At this point, it still wears a complete cover, so it’s hard to talk about styling details. However, some things can be seen through the cover. Most BMW lovers will be glad that the new grille, although bolder and bigger, won’t be ridiculously huge, as in the case of the 4 Series. Instead, it will keep a similar size and the whole front face should bring evolutionary changes only. The same thing is expected with the rest of the exterior, which will keep similar proportions and overall shape.

Interior

When it comes to interior design, we still don’t know specifics. Still, we presume that the 2024 BMW X3 will go in the same direction as the rest of the lineup. So, we count on the new dashboard design, which would implement the company’s new tech features, particularly in terms of the new infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster, which should be designed in the same way as the units in the all-electric iX.

Considering that the new model will probably keep similar dimensions, we expect that the amount of passenger space will also remain very similar. That’s not an issue at all, considering that the current model already features one of the most spacious cabins around. Both rows are generous with space and accommodate adults with ease. Furthermore, the cargo area is among the biggest in the class.

2024 BMW X3 Engines

When it comes to the powertrain, it looks like the Bavarian carmaker will offer all kinds of options for the new 2024 BMW X3. First of all, a couple of internal-combustion engines will carry on. Base models should come equipped with a turbo-four unit, with a slight power increase compared to the current model. We also count on the company’s well-known inline-six, which will be reserved for the M-badged models.

The next-generation 2024 BMW X3 will also be a lot about electrification. One of the certain novelties is the plug-in hybrid powertrain. Although we still don’t know the details, it looks like the new generation will come with three PHEV units on offer. Allegedly, base models will come with rear-wheel drive, while the other two will feature an AWD setup.

Finally, there is a big chance to see an all-electric version someday. However, this model probably won’t be ready for the initial launch.

2024 BMW X3 Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2024 BMW X3 will hit the market sometime in the second half of 2023. Base models will probably cost slightly under 50.000 dollars, while the competition will remain the same. Models like Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC and Volvo XC60 are some of the key competitors.
