By Formerly known as the MKX, the Nautilus represents Lincoln in the segment of two-row mid-size SUVs. It’s been around for a while and from what we know so far, the future seems quite uncertain. Namely, the Oakville plant, where this model is assembled, will switch to electric cars in summer 2024, so there is a big chance to see the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus as the final model year. Other reports suggest that the Nautilus could be imported from China, as the car is produced there as well.
In any case, we don’t believe that the next year’s model could bring more important changes, no matter the scenario. The current model is getting close to the end of production and after the last year’s updates, it is pretty much for sure that Lincoln designers won’t bother with this model anymore. We expect to see a familiar layout, with familiar design characteristics and features.
As there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.
2024 Lincoln Nautilus Design
As this could easily be the final production year of the generation, it’s pretty much a certain thing that we won’t be seeing bigger changes. We expect to see a familiar design, which has been around for a while. Although essentially based on the last generation of the MKX, the Nautilus came with a completely new styling, based on the brand’s contemporary design language. It still looks quite fresh and attractive, so we are pretty sure we won’t be seeing any changes in this aspect.
When it comes to ride quality, this SUV feels quite composed. The handling feels precise enough for an average driver, while the comfort is at a pretty high level too. Everything feels quite balanced, so most drivers should be satisfied with the ride quality.
Interior
On the inside, big changes occurred a few years ago, so we are pretty sure that the cabin layout will remain the same in the next year. That update brought a completely new dashboard design, with finer materials, better build quality and a lot of new tech features. Thanks to all these changes, the Nautilus now features one of the nicest cabins in the class.
Besides excellent quality, this SUV also offers a lot of cabin space. It comes with two very spacious rows of seats, which both accommodate adults with ease. Also, the front seats are well-shaped and pretty massive, so the level of comfort is pretty impressive.
The cargo area offers around 37.2 cubic feet of room behind the rear seats and 68.8 cubic feet with these seats folded, which is pretty good for the segment.
Features
Although novelties in this aspect are always possible, we are pretty sure that most things will remain the same. Therefore, base models should come standard with goodies like dual-zone climate control, remote start, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 13.2-inch touch screen, a 10-speaker stereo, satellite radio, Bluetooth, USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Among upgrades, expect to find things like a panoramic sunroof, smartphone keyless entry, navigation, wireless device charging, a 13- or 19-speaker Revel stereo, HD Radio, and a rear-seat entertainment system.
When it comes to safety features, base models should come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors etc. Also, count on optional features like front parking sensors, parallel and perpendicular park assist, surround-view camera system, adaptive cruise control etc.
2024 Lincoln Nautilus Engines
Things under the hood definitely won’t change. The 2024 Lincoln Nautilus will continue with two familiar powertrain options on offer. Base models will use a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 250 horsepower. While that’s pretty much enough for most drivers, there is also a more capable 2.7-liter V6, which puts out around 335 horsepower and offers notably better performance.
The base engine returns around 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, which is about average for a mid-size SUV. The V6 is slightly thirstier and returns around 20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. The max towing capacity goes up to 3.500 pounds.
2024 Lincoln Nautilus Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus could arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 44.000 dollars. Models like Cadillac XT5 and Infiniti QX60 are some of the competitors.
