By The famous luxury SUV has been around for decades, while the current generation was introduced in 2020, for the 2021 model year. So far, we’ve been seeing interesting yearly updates, such as the recently-introduced 2023 model which has brought a high-performance variant of the SUV. The 2024 Cadillac Escalade will also come with novelties but this time, we will see a mid-cycle update. The test mule has already been spotted on the road and it looks like we are about to see a fine portion of novelties.
Of course, the focus of this update will be on aesthetics. We expect to see a new styling, which should bring new details to both ends of the SUV. Other than styling changes, we don’t expect to see significant modifications. Of course, it’s always possible to see things like more standard features and new interior details.
Considering the update, the 2024 Cadillac Escalade will probably come a little bit earlier than usual, though still within the second half of 2023.
2024 Cadillac Escalade Design
As we’ve just mentioned, this will be a mid-cycle refresh. We expect to see a typical facelift and if we can judge by the test model, which has been spotted on the road, we are about to see a pretty big portion of changes. The test mule comes with completely covered front and rear ends. So, we may presume that the front end will come with a new grille, reshaped bumper and maybe even some revisions on headlights and hood. On the other hand, the rear end may bring a few new details on the tailgate, rear bumper, taillights etc.
We don’t expect to see bigger changes in terms of mechanics. The 2024 Cadillac Escalade should continue in the same way, featuring standard independent rear suspension and available air suspension with adaptive dampers.
Interior
On the inside, we don’t believe that the 2024 Cadillac Escalade could bring more important changes. Simply, the current model already looks impressive. It features super-fine materials, and excellent build quality and comes with loads of tech features, including that massive three-screen unit. So, the best this update could bring are minor tweaks. We may see some new materials, as well as new color schemes.
The overall cabin layout will remain the same and therefore, we are about to see one of the most spacious cabins in the class. This SUV comes with three very generous rows of seats, which all accommodate adults with ease. Also, the cargo area is the biggest in the segment, with 25.5 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 72.9 cubic feet with the third-row seats folded down, and 121 cubic feet of the total cargo volume.
If all this isn’t enough for you, there is also a stretched version of the SUV, with even more interior space.
Features
Of course, this mid-cycle update will also bring novelties regarding the standard and available equipment. Still, we don’t expect to see some significant upgrades, considering that the current model is already impressive in this aspect. It already comes standard with goodies like tri-zone automatic climate control, a 7.2-inch digital control panel, a 14.2-inch digital gauge cluster, a 16.9-inch touch screen, navigation, a 19-speaker AKG Studio stereo, HD Radio, satellite radio, USB ports, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless device charging, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Additionally, you can get options like a panoramic sunroof, center console refrigerator, a 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference stereo, and a rear-seat entertainment system with two 12.6-inch touch screens.
The same thing is with safety features. Currently, base models come standard with goodies like forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, front and rear parking sensors, surround-view camera, safety alert seat etc.
Escalade-V
2024 Cadillac Escalade Engines
The 2024 Cadillac Escalade will continue with three powertrain options on offer. Base models will continue with a familiar 6.2-liter V8, which puts out around 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, which is plenty enough for a great driving experience. For those who look for better fuel economy, there is a diesel version with a 3.0-liter turbo inline-six, which puts out around 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. That engine returns around 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, which is the highest rating in the class by far.
Finally, there is the recently-introduced, high-performance Escalade-V. That model comes with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 and puts out 668 horsepower. With all that power, this huge SUV needs just 4.4 seconds to hit 60 mph.
All engines come coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
2024 Cadillac Escalade Release Date and Price
We expect to see the 2024 Cadillac Escalade sometime in the second half of 2023, with the starting price of around 78.000 dollars. Models like Lincoln Navigator and Mercedes-Benz GLS will remain the key competitors.
