2023 BMW X3 Redesign: Interior, Features, M40i

0

The recent update has brought a lot of interesting novelties and that’s a pretty clear indicator that the 2023 BMW X3 is about to come without more important changes. After the recent facelift, we are pretty sure that no bigger changes will occur in the following years until we see a complete redesign. Still, that doesn’t mean that there is no room for minor tweaks, such as new features, color options and similar things.

You may count on a familiar layout, on a design that still has a lot of great things to offer. The X3 is a great car to drive, despite the crossover nature. At the same time, it is one of the most practical models in the class, with plenty of passenger and cargo space. Finally, there is a generous list of standard and available equipment.

As no bigger changes are about to come for the next year, we presume that the launch date will be scheduled for the last quarter of 2022.

2023 BMW X3 Design

After the recent update, we expect to see no notable 2023 BMW X3 changes. The overall layout will certainly remain the same and it will include all the novelties that were introduced with the 2022 model. This mainly refers to the visual aspect of the car. There are novelties at the front, in the form of new headlights, new grille, new bumper etc. On the other end, you can notice things like a new rear bumper, a new exhaust system etc. Finally, there are new color options and new wheels.

On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the car hasn’t changed much since the initial launch of the generation. That’s not an issue at all, considering that the current model still offers excellent handling and a great overall driving experience, whether you pick a standard or M-badged model.

Interior

The same story goes for the 2023 BMW X3 interior. The recent update has brought a slight button reconfiguration but the overall layout has remained the same. Of course, the next year won’t bring changes either. We are about to see a familiar cabin layout, which combines conservative design with nice materials and great build quality. Also, the list of standard tech features is long and that makes the cabin look even more upscale.

2023 BMW X3 Interior

The X3 has always been one of the most practical models in the class. We like its spacious cabin, which offers plenty of room in both rows. It accommodates adults in both rows with ease, which isn’t always the case in this segment of cars. Also, the cargo area offers around 28.7 cubic feet of cargo space with its rear seats upright and 62.7 cubic feet in total, which is among the highest ratings in the class.

Features

Novelties in this aspect are always possible and the 2023 BMW X3 could also come with some of them. However, we are pretty sure that most of the things will remain the same in the next year. So, base models will come with a smaller 10.3-inch instrument and infotainment screens. On the other hand, higher trim levels offer larger 12.3-inch screens. All models come standard with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, Bluetooth phone connectivity, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and one USB.

When it comes to safety, all models should come standard with goodies like front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning etc. Optionally, you can get goodies like a head-up display, adaptive pivoting headlights, parallel park assist, a surround-view parking camera system, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.

2023 BMW X3 Engines

Things under the hood definitely won’t change. The 2023 BMW X3 specs will remain the same and the offer will start with a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 250 horsepower and offers quite decent performance. If you’re looking for something peppier, there is the M40i model, which uses a 3.0-liter inline-six that puts out 382 horsepower. Finally, there is the X3 M model, which uses the same but more powerful inline-six engine, with a total output of 473 horsepower.

All three engines come in pair with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. The base engine features an average fuel economy of around 25 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.
