2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Redesign: Rumors, Expectations, Hybrid, MX5

With the current generation of Hyundai’s mid-size crossover, everything is happening pretty fast. This iteration was introduced in 2018 but it receive a mid-cycle refresh already a few years later. Now, it looks like we are about to see a complete redesign already in the next year. Allegedly, the new generation is already in development and it is expected to bring further improvements in all aspects. That model will arrive as the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe and we are eager to see what it’s going to look like.

The new model is about to bring various novelties. Simply, the current generation seems a little bit overshadowed by the new Tucson, which has grown in size significantly. On the other hand, families rather choose the three-row Palisade. That’s why we count on all kinds of improvements, as well as on a slight size increase. Novelties are possible under the hood as well.

The all-new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe should hit the market sometime in the second half of 2023.

This is expected to be a full redesign and, logically, one of the first things that come to mind is the platform. We expect that Hyundai will implement a new architecture, which will open all kinds of new possibilities. This refers to the implementation of new technologies, starting from further electrification, new tech and drive-assist features and many more.

Naturally, we also count on a new chassis and suspension setup. The current model is easy to drive but it can often struggle with road imperfections. So, we presume that the Korean engineers will tend to make the new model smoother and more comfortable than before while keeping athleticism at a decent level.

As we’ve just mentioned, the all-new, fifth generation of Santa Fe will probably get bigger. We count on a longer wheelbase, as well as on bigger overall dimensions, which will bring all kinds of benefits to the inside, particularly in terms of the passenger space.

Aesthetics is another thing that comes to mind. The current models look attractive, but we presume that the company will tend to adapt the new model to the brand’s latest design language. In other words, the new front end should take some inspiration from Tucson and Palisade. The rest of the body should look more rugged and more muscular.

Of course, the bigger size is expected to bring more interior space. This particularly refers to the second row and the cargo area, while the front seats are already very generous with space. If the wheelbase becomes long enough, we won’t be surprised to see the third row of seats in the offer as well. For reference, the current cargo area offers around 36.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind its rear seats and 72.1 cubic feet, so we could say it would use a little bit more space.

We also count on further improvements in terms of the build quality and dashboard design, even though the current model looks pretty impressive already. The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe will bring new aesthetics, new materials and more attention to detail. Furthermore, we count on new tech features, new drive-assistance systems etc.

2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Engines

This aspect shouldn’t bring bigger changes. We presume that the current hybrid powertrains will be the core of the offer. There are two powertrains of this kind on offer, a classic hybrid and a plug-in hybrid, with 226 and 261 horsepower, respectively. Also, the current gasoline units should remain on offer as well. This includes the base inline-four, as well as the available turbo-four, with 191 and 281 horsepower, respectively.

As we already mentioned, the new platform should also open up new possibilities in terms of electrification. So, it’s no wonder that some sources speculate about the all-electric version of this SUV. The officials are still quiet on this matter.
