The current generation of Lincoln’s flagship SUV isn’t that old at all. It’s been around since 2018 but if we consider that Escalade has just been redesigned, as well as a couple more rivals, it makes perfect sense that various reports suggest an early redesign. Allegedly, the all-new generation will arrive already in the next year, as the 2024 Lincoln Navigator. We expect to see a lot of novelties, maybe even an all-electric version.
At this point, it’s still early to talk about details but some aspects of the new model are quite easy to be predicted. Considering that the F-150 has just been redesigned, we expect that the new Navigator will follow the same path, with the same kind of changes. We count on a new design, a more luxurious interior and maybe some novelties under the hood.
The all-new 2024 Lincoln Navigator should arrive sometime in the second half of the next year.
2024 Lincoln Navigator Redesign
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Lincoln Navigator is expected to follow the path of the recently redesigned F-150. Therefore, we don’t expect to see radical changes, at least when it comes to the mechanics. The new model should ride on an updated version of the current platform, which revolutionized the body-on-frame world several years ago, with the massive use of aluminum and HSS. We presume that the new model would go even further in this aspect.
Just like the current generation, the new model should also come in standard- and long-wheelbase variants and both versions should feature similar dimensions, with minor changes. On the other hand, we expect to see a completely new styling. The aesthetics are currently a mystery, as Lincoln is about yet to establish the new design language. In any case, we expect to see a bolder and more aggressive look than before.
This is another aspect where we expect to see big novelties. The current version looks very elegant but rivals look more modern, thanks to the massive use of screens and other high-tech features. So, the 2024 Lincoln Navigator could improve a little bit in this aspect. Of course, we count on further improvements regarding the build quality, materials etc. Naturally, the list of standard and available equipment should be expanded.
As we’ve just mentioned, the overall dimensions shouldn’t change much. Therefore, we may expect to see a similar amount of space. Both versions are very generous with passenger space, even in the third row. So, we don’t expect the new model to be any different. Still, we presume that Lincoln engineers will try to expand the cargo area for a bit, considering that the new Escalade is pretty superior in this aspect.
2024 Lincoln Navigator Engines
When it comes to powertrain, we do not doubt that the next-generation 2024 Lincoln Navigator will bring some novelties in terms of electrification. Still, we believe that base models will continue in the same way, with the familiar 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6. This engine currently puts out around 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque but we might see some power increase for the new generation.
We also believe that the new 2024 Lincoln Navigator could come with a hybrid powertrain. That could easily be the same or very similar system to the one found in Ford Explorer. We are talking about a plug-in hybrid setup, based on a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. The whole system puts out around 450 horsepower and a pretty impressive 620 pound-feet of torque. Just like the gasoline model, it would come in pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
All-Electric Navigator on the Way?
Some sources also speculate about the all-electric Navigator. Allegedly, this version would be based on the new F-150 Lightning. It would use the same or similar drivetrain and battery. For reference, the all-electric pickup comes in two dual-motor configurations, with max outputs of 452 and 580 horsepower. Also, there are two battery packs, with 98 and 131 kWh in capacity. We presume that the Navigator would come with a little bit different battery capacity, due to the specific design and shorter wheelbase. Still, we believe that all versions will be able to make at least 300 miles on a single charge.
2024 Lincoln Navigator Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 Lincoln Navigator will arrive sometime in the second half of the next year, with a starting price of around 80.000 dollars. Of course, the competition will remain the same, with models like Cadillac Escalade, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Mercedes-Benz GLS etc.
