2024 Hyundai IONIQ 7: What We Know So Far

0

Hyundai’s recently-established brand IONIQ is going toward massive electrification. A couple of models have already been released and now, we are eagerly waiting for the brand-new 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 7, which will be a three-row crossover. This will be the company’s third EV in the lineup. At this point, not many details are known but we presume that a lot of inspiration will be taken from the recently-presented concept.

We expect to see a futuristic design, full of high-tech features, as well as a pretty capable drivetrain. At this point, details are still unknown about the drivetrain setup but we expect to see a 350-kW fast charger, while the battery should be large enough to ensure more than 300 miles of range.

The brand-new IONIQ 7 is expected to arrive sometime in the next year.

2024 Hyundai IONIQ 7 Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 7 is still in development and the company keeps details a secret. At this point, all we know is that this will be the company’s biggest SUV, with three rows of seats. Also, we know that the new model will ride on the company’s new E-GMP platform, which will underpin pretty much all-electric vehicles in Hyundai’s, Kia’s, and IONIQ’s lineup in the forthcoming years.

In terms of the styling, we presume that some inspiration will be taken from the concept version, which came with a pretty futuristic aesthetical approach, highlighted by a front end that features a long horizontal LED stripe under the hood and a couple of LED lights in the lower fascia. The front end is also characterized by a massive, vertically-oriented grille, but we presume that things will be slightly different in the production model, as the company will probably go with a solution that guarantees a better drag coefficient.

Interior

We are pretty sure that the production model won’t have many things in common with the concept, at least in terms of interior design. Namely, the concept came with an ultra-futuristic design, with a bold high-tech dashboard and chair-like seats, which is something that doesn’t seem particularly production-friendly. Instead, we presume that the 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 7 will rather come with a  design that’s similar to other IONIQ models, with a simplistic dashboard design that utilizes a couple of massive 12.3-inch screens.

As we already mentioned, this will be the biggest model in the lineup, with three rows of seats. The exact dimensions are still unavailable, but we expect to see a third row that’s spacious and functional enough, which would make this model one of the most practical all-electric SUVs on the market.

2024 Hyundai IONIQ 7 Drivetrain and Performance

At this point, we don’t know much about the drivetrain. Still, we estimate that the new model will come with a dual-motor setup, which would provide respectable power for the class.

The exact battery capacity is still unknown but different sources suggest that the 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 7 will be able to make around 300 miles on a single charge. We estimate that a vehicle of this size and weight will need a 100kWh battery pack to achieve such autonomy.

On the other hand, we know for sure that the new SUV will be available with a 350-kW fast charger, which will be able to charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 20 minutes.

2024 Hyundai IONIQ 7 Release Date and Price

We expect to see the 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 7 sometime in the second half of the next year. Most experts suggest a starting price of around 50.000 dollars.
