All-New Electric 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ SUV: Review, Price, Range

0

While most traditional and renowned carmakers were caught unprepared for electrification, it looks like GM is doing this transmission to the new era of the automotive industry pretty well. Therefore, it’s no wonder that several new models are coming in the near future and that refers to all brands, including the most prestigious one – Cadillac. Caddy is about to release its first all-electric car and as you may presume, it will be a crossover. It will come as the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ and it will bring a lot of new things to the table, especially when it comes to the latest battery technologies.

The new model will be a mid-size SUV and from what we can see, it will bring a lot of interesting design solutions. Of course, the styling is the first thing to notice but you may also count on a pretty extravagant interior design, as well as on pretty advanced technologies regarding batteries, charging etc. Finally, count on, at least, two powertrain options, with both RWD and AWD versions on the offer.

2023 Cadillac LYRIQ Design

The all-new 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ is on the way and it will come with lots of interesting stuff. First of all, it will be the first model to ride on GM’s new BEV3 platform, which will underpin several other all-electric models in the future, not just GM ones, but also models from Honda, such as the new Prologue. In the case of this crossover, it will bring benefits in various aspects, starting from the fact that it supports the latest Ultium battery technology completely, which means an 800-V system that supports up to 350 kw of fast charging.

Of course, this won’t be the only benefit of the new platform. The 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ will also bring a lot of refinement and one of the things we should mention is the advanced suspension setup, which will ensure superior ride quality.

Exterior

Naturally, we will also see a completely new styling. Just one look at the new model and you can easily notice the new design language, characterized by a pretty futuristic design, especially at the front, which doesn’t have much in common with the Caddy’s current lineup. The rest of the vehicle features a coupe-SUV layout, something that’s become pretty popular over the last decade.

When it comes to the size, the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ will be a mid-size crossover. However, you may count on a pretty impressive wheelbase that goes over 121 inches, which will certainly have a big impact on the overall ride quality. The SUV is 196.7 inches long, while the curb weight is expected to go around 5.610 pounds.

Interior

On the inside, you can notice some influence from the current-generation Cadillac Escalade, particularly in terms of those massive and integrated screens. The dashboard features a pretty futuristic design, while we can also notice the use of some pretty interesting materials inside the cabin. Of course, the list of tech and driver-assistance features will be impressive.

A massive center console spreads across the whole cabin, which means that we are talking about a 2+2 seating configuration. However, we expect that the company will offer a version with the second-row bench as well. In both cases, the amount of passenger space should be very generous, thanks to the long wheelbase.

2023 Cadillac LYRIQ Powertrain and Performance

From what we know so far, the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ will come in two variants regarding the powertrain setup. Base models will come with an RWD setup, with a single electric motor on the rear axle, which puts out around 340 horsepower. A dual-motor version will come too, with the additional electric motor at the front. This version will feature a max output of around 500 horsepower.

When it comes to the battery, the new SUV will use the company’s latest Ultium technologies that support battery capacities from 50 to 200 kilowatt-hours. In this case, we expect that the battery will be good for about 100 kWh, which will be enough for more than 300 miles of range. The company promises a fast-charging option that will ensure 100 miles for every 10 minutes of charging.

2023 Cadillac LYRIQ Release Date and Price

We expect to see the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ this summer, with a starting price of around 60.000 dollars.
