2023 Lexus NX Redesign, Changes, and Prices

0

The recent redesign has brought a lot of big novelties, which made this compact crossover even more impressive than before. We like the new NX for many reasons but mostly because of the fact that the company improved things it needed most. Therefore, we are pretty sure that the 2023 Lexus NX, which will represent the second production year of the new generation, will come without more important updates. We are about to see the same overall layout, though minor updates are always possible.

All in all, you may count on a crossover that’s a fantastic value for the money. The list of standard equipment is very long, while the interior quality is impressive. We also like the new infotainment system, as well as the improved sound insulation. Finally, there is a generous powertrain offer, which includes two gasoline and two hybrid options.

Since there are no significant changes to come, we are pretty sure that the 2023 Lexus NX will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2023 Lexus NX Design

As we just mentioned, this will be the second production year of the generation, so it’s pretty much for sure that the 2023 Lexus NX changes will be minimal. Simply, the recent redesign brought a new platform, the company’s new TNGA architecture, which brings notable improvements in terms of ride quality, as well as all kinds of new technologies.

Visually, we might see a couple of new color options on the offer but the overall layout will certainly remain the same. The new model brought mostly evolutionary changes, and we can say it looks more elegant and more mature than its predecessor. This particularly refers to the new front and rear ends, while the overall shape hasn’t changed all that much.

Interior

Once again, we don’t expect to see more important changes. Therefore, you may count on the same cabin design, which is great. It may not look as flashy as the cabins of rivals like Genesis GV70 or Mercedes-Benz GLC, but the build quality is excellent, as well as the attention to detail. Also, we like the new infotainment system very much, as it is way easier to use than the previous one.

Besides excellent build quality, this cabin also offers a decent amount of passenger room. The front seats are massive and supportive, some of the best in the class. Also, the driving position is very good and ensures good visibility in all directions. The second row accommodates adults pretty easily as well.

On the other hand, the cargo area isn’t all that generous. It offers around 23 cubic feet behind the second row and 47 cubic feet of the total volume, which is below average for the segment.

Features

Although the 2023 Lexus NX could bring a few novelties in this aspect, we are pretty sure that most of the things are about to remain the same. Therefore, all models will come standard with goodies like a 9.8-inch touch screen, a 10-speaker stereo, a USB port, Bluetooth, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, remote start, proximity keyless entry, dual-zone climate control etc. You may count on available features like a panoramic glass roof, a 14-inch touch screen, a 17-speaker Mark Levinson stereo, a Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless device charging, and navigation.

In terms of driver-assistance features, base models should come equipped with goodies like a rearview camera, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane trace assists, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams etc. Higher trim levels will bring upgrades like adaptive headlights, lane change assist, head-up display, parking sensors, parallel and perpendicular park assist, front cross-traffic alert, surround-view camera etc.

2023 Lexus NX Engines

This aspect definitely won’t bring changes. So, base models will continue with a good-old 2.5-liter inline-four, which puts out around 203 horsepower. While it offers decent driving dynamics, we strongly recommend the optional 2.4-liter turbo-four with 275 horsepower, which offers notably better driving dynamics. Both engines come coupled with a smooth and refined 8-speed automatic transmission.

There are also two hybrid powertrain options on the offer. The first one is a classic hybrid, which features a max output of 240 horsepower. You can also get a plug-in hybrid, which puts out 304 horsepower. The standard hybrid offers a pretty impressive fuel economy, which goes around 41 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. On the other hand, the PHEV offers 36 miles of the all-electric range.

2023 Lexus NX Release Date and Price

The 2023 Lexus NX will arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 39.000 dollars. The hybrid should be available at around $41.000, while the PHEV is expected to start at around $56.000.
