The famous luxury SUV has just been redesigned and the new generation brings a full load of novelties. Compared to the previous generation, things are better in pretty much every aspect and logically, we wouldn’t expect bigger changes in the near future. However, the company prepares some pretty big novelties for the third production year. It looks like we are about to see a performance version of this SUV, which will most likely come as the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V.
At this point, the exact details about this performance version are still unknown. However, we may presume that changes are about to come in various aspects. What we know for sure is that the new model is about to come with a supercharged V8, with much more power. Furthermore, we expect novelties in many other aspects, starting from a new suspension setup, upgraded brakes and similar things. Visual upgrades are expected too, while we wouldn’t be surprised if we see some interior upgrades.
The new 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V should hit the market sometime in the second half of 2022.
2023 Cadillac Escalade-V Engine
The 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V will come with all kinds of upgrades and the first thing that comes to mind is the engine. Instead of the naturally-aspirated version of the 6.2-liter V8 engine, we will see an upgraded variant of this unit, better known as the LT4 engine. This unit already powers performance models like Chevy Camaro ZL1 and Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, where it puts out 650 and 668 horsepower, respectively.
The exact output of the Escalade-V is still unknown, but we are pretty sure that the numbers will be pretty similar, probably the same as in the CT5-V Blackwing. Of course, the overall performance will be at a much higher level compared to the standard Escalade. Some sources also speculate about the standard all-wheel drive. Of course, the engine will come in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
2023 Cadillac Escalade-V Design
Of course, the engine isn’t the only upgrade we are about to see. The 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V will come with many other modifications, starting from the suspension and chassis tuning. The first thing that comes to mind is suspension, which should include performance shocks and many other modifications, which will provide a stiffer ride and less body roll. Of course, we also count on bigger brakes, while further chassis reinforcement is another thing that comes to mind.
Naturally, we expect to see a pretty unique styling too. The 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V should come with a lot of unique details, which will accentuate the model’s performance character. Of course, some of the things that come to mind are more aggressive bumpers, bigger wheels with lower-profile tires, side skirts, a new grille pattern and similar things. Exclusive color options are another thing that comes to mind.
A couple of upgrades are possible on the inside as well. This particularly refers to materials, where we could see additions of things like carbon fiber, aluminum etc. Also, we count on unique color schemes, as well as things like sporty seats, sporty steering wheel, paddle shifters and similar things.
Still, the overall cabin layout should remain pretty much the same. This means that you may count on a performance SUV that’s also extremely practical. This cavernous cabin comes with three rows of seats and accommodates eight passengers with ease. The cargo area also offers incredible numbers. You may count on about 25.5 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 72.9 cubic feet with the third-row seats folded down, and 121 cubic feet of the total cargo volume.
As we are talking about a model that will probably be the most expensive Escalade on the offer, there is no doubt it will come fully loaded with standard features. The list of standard equipment will certainly include goodies like a 7.2-inch digital control panel, a 14.2-inch digital gauge cluster, tri-zone climate control, remote start a 16.9-inch touch screen, navigation, a 19-speaker AKG Studio stereo, HD Radio, satellite radio, USB ports, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless device charging, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The list of potential standard features includes goodies like a panoramic sunroof, a 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference stereo, and a rear-seat entertainment system with two 12.6-inch touch screens.
When it comes the safety features, we presume that the Escalade-V will come standard with forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, front and rear parking sensors, surround-view camera and a few more things.
2023 Cadillac Escalade-V Release Date
We expect that the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year. Details about the price are still to be announced. When it comes to the competition, key rivals should be models like BMW Alpina XB7, Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 etc.
