For that reason, mid-cycle updates usually come after just a couple of years and the 2024 Kia Sorento will be another example of this policy. It is about to receive a mid-cycle refresh and from what we can hear, changes will be various. Of course, the focus will be on the styling, which will get some updates at the front, as well as in some other areas.
Updates in other aspects are also possible but we don’t expect to see such significant changes. Instead, most of the design and features will remain the same. We are about to see a familiar layout, which still has a lot of great things to offer, starting from the well-designed interior, generous powertrain offer and many more.

As we’ve just mentioned, the current generation has been around for just a couple of years but it’s already about to receive a mid-cycle refresh. The officials are still quiet about specifics but if we can rely on rumors, the 2024 Kia Sorento is about to get a completely new front end. Some renderings already appeared and they show completely new, more attractive headlights, along with the new bumper and other modifications.
On the other hand, the rest of the vehicle should carry on in the same way. This refers to the mechanics as well, which will include the same chassis and suspension setup, which provides a smooth ride and quite composed handling. The Sorento is easy to drive and quite maneuverable, considering the exterior dimensions.
Interior
According to unofficial reports, the 2024 Kia Sorento won’t receive too many updates on the inside. Moreover, the dashboard should remain largely the same, which isn’t an issue at all. Moreover, the current cabin looks very attractive. It appoints fine materials and pretty elegant aesthetics, while the generous offer of tech goodies makes everything look even more upscale. So, the main changes could be new color schemes and additions of a few new materials.
On the other hand, the seating configuration will remain the same. Despite relatively modest dimensions, this SUV comes with three rows of seats. The third row may not be particularly spacious but it definitely makes this SUV way more functional. The first two rows are spacious and very comfortable.
When it comes to cargo capacity, the isn’t much left behind the third row. You may count on about 12.5 cubic feet but things are much better once you fold the third row down. The cargo volume with these seats down goes around 45 cubic feet. The overall cargo volume goes around 75.5 cubic feet.
Features
Of course, we would expect to see novelties in this aspect. We presume that some of the currently-optional features will become standard. For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, a six-speaker stereo, HD Radio, six USB ports etc.
The list of potential additions to the standard equipment is pretty long. Currently, there are numerous optional features, such as a 10.25-inch touch screen, satellite radio, navigation, voice recognition, additional second-row USB ports, a rear-seat entertainment system, wireless device charging, a 12-speaker Bose premium stereo, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and many more.
2024 Kia Sorento Engines
This aspect won’t bring any changes. So, you may count on four powertrain options on offer. Base models will continue with a good-old 2.5-liter inline-four, which puts out around 190 horsepower. If you’re looking for something more capable, we recommend the optional 2.5-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 281 horsepower and offers significantly better performance.
The 2024 Kia Sorento will also be available in two hybrid variants. The first one is a classic hybrid, which combines a 1.6-liter turbo-four with a single electric motor, for a total output of 227 horsepower. Performances are decent, while you may also count on pretty impressive fuel economy that goes around 39 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. The plug-in hybrid is based on the same gasoline engine but comes with a more powerful electric motor, so the combined output goes around 261 horsepower.

We expect that the updated 2024 Kia Sorento will hit the market sometime in the second half of 2023, with a starting price of around 31.000 dollars. The Sorento competes with many mid-size SUVs but we think that its key rivals are three-row compact SUVs, such as VW Tiguan or Mitsubishi Outlander.
