2023 Toyota Venza Preview: Changes, Interior, Release Date, Price

0

Last year, Toyota debuted with a  new mid-size SUV, which slots between RAV4 and the three-row Highlander. It uses a familiar nameplate but comes pretty much as a rebadged version of the Japanese-market Harrier. The Venza is a pretty luxurious SUV, which looks fresh and attractive. That’s why we are pretty sure that the 2023 Toyota Venza will come without more important changes. We are about to see a familiar layout, though familiar updates like new color options, more features and similar things.

You may count on familiar characteristics. This SUV has several great things to offer, starting from an efficient powertrain, luxurious powertrain, comfortable ride and spacious seats etc. When it comes to things we don’t like, driving dynamics could be better, while the cargo area isn’t particularly generous with space.

Considering that the 2023 Toyota Venza won’t bring significant changes, we presume it will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2023 Toyota Venza Design

Considering that the 2023 Toyota Venza will represent the third model year of the generation, we are pretty sure that there won’t be significant changes. The overall layout will certainly remain the same, with the design that offers something between the compact RAV4 and three-row Highlander. Of course, the car rides on a TNGA platform and offers a quite composed ride, though we wouldn’t say it’s particularly athletic. Instead, it’s rather comfortable and easy to drive.

When it comes to the styling, things are a little bit different compares to other SUVs in the lineup. This model was originally designed for the Japanese market, so the design language is a little bit different, though we can find some similarities with the Camry. Of course, this refers to the front end, while the rest of the body looks pretty sleek for a crossover.

Interior

The Venza is a mid-size crossover, but it’s a little bit smaller than most rivals, such as Honda Passport, Nissan Murano etc. As you presume, that affects the interior space, which is slightly less generous compared to the aforementioned rivals. Still, adults can accommodate in both rows with ease. The front seats are massive and supportive, while visibility is good in all directions. When it comes to the cargo area, you may count on about 28.7 cubic feet of space. Fold the rear seats down, and that number jumps to 54.9, which is pretty low for the segment.

Still, this cabin isn’t without strong points. Moreover, it looks very luxurious, while things like materials and build quality are pretty impressive. Finally, there is a long list of tech features, which makes everything look even more upscale. In some aspects, Venza’s interior looks more like a Lexus than a Toyota.

Features

It won’t be a surprise if we see a couple of new features in the 2023 Toyota Venza, whether it’s about standard equipment or options. However, most of the things are about to remain the same. Therefore, this list of standard equipment should include goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, a six-speaker stereo, satellite radio, HD Radio, Bluetooth, four USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging etc. Among options, we expect to see things like a panoramic glass roof, a 12.3-inch touch screen, navigation, and a nine-speaker JBL audio system.

The same thing goes for safety features. All models should come standard with a rearview camera, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and traffic sign recognition. The list of options should include a head-up display, a surround-view parking camera system, and front and rear parking sensors.

2023 Toyota Venza Engine

We presume that the 2023 Toyota Venza will continue with just one engine option on the offer. That’s a pretty familiar hybrid setup, the same one that can be found in RAV4. So, you get a combination of a 2.5-liter inline-four and a couple of electric motors, for a total output of 219 horsepower. That’s enough for decent dynamics but anyone who seeks something relatively engaging should rather consider more powerful rivals that usually come with V6 engines. Like other hybrids from Toyota, this one also comes with the CVT.

While performances aren’t particularly impressive, the Venza really shines in terms of fuel economy. You may count on about 40 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway, which is really impressive for a mid-size crossover.
