Nissan’s popular compact crossover came completely redesigned last year. It was introduced with a full load of novelties, which improved this model in nearly every aspect. Therefore, we are pretty sure that the 2022 Nissan Rogue won’t bring any particular update. The Japanese manufacturer is currently busy with the next-generation Rogue Sport, so the best we could see in the case of this model are updated in terms of new standard and available equipment.
So, what to expect from the 2022 Nissan Rogue? Well, you may expect the same characteristics as in the current 2021 model. The new generation offers a spacious and well-built cabin, with some of the most expansive cargo areas. Also, you may count on a pretty long list of tech and safety features, while the infotainment system is pretty easy to use. On the other side, the biggest complaint goes to the engine performances, as most rivals offer better acceleration and a smoother ride.
We presume that the 2022 Nissan Rogue will hit the market sometime late in the year.
2022 Nissan Rogue Redesign
When it comes to the overall design, this is a very fresh model. It has just arrived completely redesigned, so it’s hard to believe that we could see any particular change for the second production year. You may count on a familiar layout, based on the updated version of the familiar CMF platform. Compared to the previous generation, this model rides better. It is more comfortable and easier to maneuver, even though it’s slightly bigger. Interestingly, the wheelbase remained the same.
The last year’s redesign has also brought a completely new styling. It brings a completely new approach to the brand’s well-known V-Motion grille and looks sharper and more futuristic. It looks really good, so we certainly won’t be seeing any bigger aesthetical change for the 2022 Nissan Rogue. Still, we won’t exclude the possibility to see new color options in the offer.
We think that this is one of Rogue’s strongest points. The previous generation was great in this aspect, while the new model is even better. The 2022 Nissan Rogue will continue in the same way, offering an attractive dashboard, along with nice materials and good build quality. Also, there is a long list of standard and available equipment, which makes this interior look even more upscale.
Not only that this cabin looks good but it is also very spacious and practical. With 106.5 inches in wheelbase, it is among the bigger models in the class. That’s pretty easy to notice, considering that the amount of legroom is generous in both rows of seats. The second row accommodates adults with ease. Also, you may count on one of the biggest cargo areas in the class. In numbers, that would be 31.6 cubic feet behind the second row and 74.1 cubic feet of the total volume.
Most carmakers tend to offer novelties in their models every year and these novelties are mostly about new features. The 2022 Nissan Rogue shouldn’t be an exception, so a couple of new things on lists of standard and available equipment seem very likely. However, keep in mind that the current model is already pretty impressive in this aspect, so the changes will probably be minimal. For reference, the 2021 Rogue comes standard with tech goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a four-speaker stereo, two USB ports, Bluetooth, and satellite radio.
Of course, there is much more to get in higher trim levels, where Nissan offers things like dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, panoramic sunroof, a 9-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker stereo, a 10-speaker Bose premium stereo, navigation, wireless device charging, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, two rear USB ports, Wi-Fi hot spot and many more.
2022 Nissan Rogue Engine
Currently, this crossover comes with just one engine on the offer. Despite the rumors about the more powerful optional powertrain, we think that things are about to remain the same. The current model comes with a familiar 2.5-liter inline-four, which puts out around 181 horsepower and comes in pair with a CVT gearbox.
The setup by itself is okay. This is a perfect daily commuter. Still, if you want something more than that, you should check the alternatives, such as RAV4, Honda CR-V or Mazda CX-5. With this crossover, you may count on a powertrain that won’t impress you with acceleration, while the powertrain can also be pretty loud under heavy throttle.
On the other side, you may count on some of the most impressive fuel economies in the class. In numbers, that would be around 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.
2022 Nissan Rogue Release Date and Price
Minimal updates usually mean arrival in the last part of the year. Therefore, we presume that the 2022 Nissan Rogue will arrive in the last quarter of 2021. The current model starts at around 26.000 dollars and we don’t expect any increase for the next year.
