2024 Nissan Rogue Might Get ePower Hybrid Powertrain

0

The current generation of Nissan’s popular compact crossover has been around for a while and it is still pretty fresh in most aspects. However, the competition doesn’t sleep and a few fierce rivals have just come up with novelties, starting with a completely redesigned CR-V. Therefore, many expect to see some updates on the 2024 Nissan Rogue, which would also cover up the recent recalls.

In any case, the officials are still quiet. On the other hand, the NISMO version has been rendered and although it looks very interesting, we are pretty sure it won’t happen. What can happen is a hybrid version, with Nissan’s new ePower technology. Such a powertrain already powers the new Qashqai in Europe, so there is no reason why we wouldn’t see it in North America as well. We are still waiting for the officials to say something about this.

In any case, the 2024 Nissan Rogue should arrive sometime in the second half of 2023.

The current generation is still pretty fresh in most aspects and we don’t believe it could bring more important changes for the 2024 model year. It looks rather attractive, while the ride quality is good, especially if you’re more interested in comfort than engaging handling. Of course, we wouldn’t exclude the possibility to see minor updates, such as new color options and appearance packages.

On the other hand, renders of the Nissan Rogue NISMO appeared on the network and they show pretty amazing things, starting from significantly upgraded styling. It gets complete treatment, with new bumpers, wheels and other parts of the body kit. Moreover, some reports also suggest it could come powered with a 3.8-liter turbo V6. However, such a version is highly unlikely to happen, despite the rumors.

Interior

In any case, the 2024 Nissan Rogue will continue with the same interior design. This crossover looks very nice from the inside. It comes with a nicely designed dashboard, which combines nice materials with elegant aesthetics. Everything feels assembled pretty well, while there are also numerous standard and available tech features that make everything look even more upscale.

Besides good quality, this cabin also offers a good amount of passenger space. The front seats are very comfortable as, traditionally, Nissan makes some of the best seats in the class. Passengers on the rear end can also count on a high level of comfort. Both leg and headroom are very generous. The cargo area is another strong point of this crossover. You may count on 36.5 cubic feet behind the second row and 74.1 cubic feet of the total cargo volume, which is pretty much on par with competitors like the Honda CR-V or Subaru Forester.

Features

Of course, we could also see novelties regarding the new standard and available equipment, although the current model already stands very well in this aspect, so changes should be minimal. In any case, all models should come standard with goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, wired Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, a four-speaker stereo, satellite radio, Bluetooth and two USB ports. On the other hand, the list of options should include goodies like wireless Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa Auto, a six-speaker stereo, two rear-seat USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a 9-inch touch screen, a 10-speaker Bose audio system, navigation, 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, remote start, push-button start, adaptive cruise control and a panoramic moonroof.

When it comes to safety features, the list of standard equipment should include a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, driver-attention monitoring etc.

2024 Nissan Rogue Engine

Things under the hood will remain the same, at least when it comes to the standard version. The 2024 Nissan Rogue will continue with a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, which puts out around 201 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque. It offers decent performance, though the CVT can feel a little bit unrefined in certain situations. On the other hand, the engine provides excellent fuel economy, which goes up to 30 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway.

Some sources also suggest a hybrid version. Allegedly, the Japanese manufacturer could introduce its new ePower hybrid technology to the North American market. We presume that the Rogue Hybrid would feature the same system as Qashqai, with a 190-hp electric motor that powers the wheels and a 158-hp gasoline engine that acts as a power generator. The officials are still quiet about this version of Rogue.
