2022 Hyundai Venue Review, Price, Facelift, Interior, Price, Release date

As a major carmaker, Hyundai tends to cover pretty much every aspect of the market. So, it’s no wonder it offers two models in the subcompact SUV segment. Besides the funky Kona, it also offers this model, which is smaller and more conventional. It is designed to meet the demands of those who don’t care much about things like style and technology, but rather want a vehicle that is cheap, efficient and easy to maintenance. The 2022 Hyundai Venue will continue with the same mission.

This will be the third production year of the current model, so we don’t expect any bigger changes. The Venue will continue as a small crossover that offers an efficient and reliable engine, with excellent maneuverability and an intuitive infotainment system. On the other side, the compromise comes in the form of a small cargo area and not particularly generous passenger space.

Considering that there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2022 Hyundai Venue will hit the market sometime late in the year.

2022 Hyundai Venue Redesign

When it comes to base design characteristics, this is the smallest crossover in the brand’s lineup, smaller than the Kona. What’s important to know about it is that it rides on the company’s good-old K2 platform, which is reserved for more conventional vehicles, which use cheap and proven technology. Therefore, you shouldn’t expect miracles from the 2022 Hyundai Venue. It will continue to offer a relatively decent ride, while the affordable price will remain its main strength.

The conventional approach is also notable in terms of aesthetics. Although there are some bits of the brand’s new design language and few similarities with Kona, the overall appearance is actually more conservative, and that’s probably the reason why this model attracts a pretty wide range of buyers. The next year could bring minor updates like new color options, but the overall look will certainly remain the same.

Interior

When you’re making a cheap vehicle, one of the best ways to cut production costs is to spare on the interior quality. Therefore, it’s no wonder that this crossover utilizes mostly hard plastics and other low-rent materials. Of course, the 2022 Hyundai Venue will continue in the same way, with the dashboard that’s very practical but doesn’t look particularly appealing. Still, it comes with a fairly decent list of tech and convenience features, despite the price tag.

With just 99.2 inches in wheelbase, it’s obvious that this model can’t provide you with too much space. The front seats are spacious and decently shaped, so the comfort is actually ok. On the other side, the second row is tight and even though it formally accommodates three passengers, there is no way to accommodate the middle passenger day. Simply, the second row isn’t designed for longer trips.

The same thing goes for the cargo area. You may count on just 18.7 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 31.9 cubic feet with the rear seats down.

Features

Once again, we don’t expect to see bigger changes. The list of standard features should remain pretty much the same as for the current model. So, we count on things like an 8-inch touch screen, a four-speaker stereo, HD Radio, a USB port, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The current model also comes with a couple of nice options, such as a sunroof, automatic climate control, a six-speaker stereo, satellite radio, an additional USB port, and navigation.

When it comes to safety, the current model comes standard with a rearview camera, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and driver drowsiness monitoring. Additionally, you can get blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. That’s a quite decent list of safety features for price tag and segment in general.

2022 Hyundai Venue Engine

Things under the hood definitely won’t change. We will see the same old 1.6-liter naturally-aspirate inline-four, which puts out around 121 horsepower and 113 pound-feet of torque. It comes in pair with a CVT gearbox and offers enough power for most situations. Of course, we are talking about daily commuting and local roads. If you’re often on the highway, you should prepare for a bit of struggle at higher speeds.

Of course, the CVT isn’t an ideal transmission for those who look for a bit of sportiness. On the other side, it is highly beneficial in terms of fuel economy. You may count on about 30 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. That’s pretty impressive for the segment.

2022 Hyundai Venue Release Date and Price

Considering that there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2022 Hyundai Venue will hit the market before the last quarter of the year. Also, the price should remain pretty much the same, around 19.000 dollars for base models. When it comes to the competition, some of the key rivals are models like Nissan Kicks, Chevy TrailBlazer, Mazda CX-3 etc.
