2024 Tesla Model Y Will Get New Battery

0

With more than 100.000 units sold in the first half of 2022, the Model Y is by far the most important model for this electric carmaker. Therefore, it’s no wonder that the company works on constant updates of this compact crossover. Another one will come in the next year when we expect to see the 2024 Tesla Model Y+ version, which will bring a bigger battery pack and provide an even more impressive range.

At this point, we are still waiting for the officials to hear more about the range and overall performance. On the other hand, we are pretty sure that the overall layout won’t change much. We presume that the current versions, the Long Range and Performance, will carry on in the same way, with the same performances. Of course, new features are always possible, especially in terms of new tech updates.

The 2024 Tesla Model Y should arrive sometime in the second half of 2023.

2024 Tesla Model Y Will Get New Battery

The biggest novelty for the next year will be the introduction of the 2024 Tesla Model Y+ model, which will bring a new battery. From what we know so far, the new pack will include 4860 cells and while we don’t know the exact capacity, the company claims a 20% range increase. If we consider that the current Long Range model features 330 miles of the all-electric range, this would mean that the version with the new battery would be able to make nearly 400 miles on a single charge.

On the other hand, the officials are still quiet about performance. We presume that the new model will carry on in two familiar variants. The Long Range model offers pretty quick acceleration and needs just 4.8 seconds to hit 60 mpg. The Performance model is even more impressive, as it needs just 3.5 seconds for the same sprint.

When it comes to charging, you may use a classic household outlet or Tesla Wall Connector at home. The latter adds between 30 and 40 miles of range per hour. Of course, you can also use the Tesla Supercharger station. In that case, you may count on about 160 miles of range per hour.

2024 Tesla Model Y Design

Design-wise, things won’t change. The 2024 Tesla Model Y will carry on with a familiar design, which follows the brand’s contemporary design language. It has most things in common with the Tesla Model 3, including the same platform. However, the handling isn’t as nimble, given the higher ground clearance, though it is still pretty good for this body layout.

2024 Tesla Model Y Interior

On the inside, you may count on a typical Tesla design approach, with a minimalistic design without any physical controls. Pretty much everything is operated through a massive 15-inch touchscreen and we are pretty sure this won’t change in the future. Base models will come with two rows of seats, while you will be able to opt for the third row of seats, which isn’t particularly spacious. On the other hand, the first two rows are very comfortable.

Features

Although there is always a chance to see upgrades and updates in this aspect, we presume that most things are about to remain the same. Therefore, the list of standard equipment should include goodies like a 15-inch touch screen, navigation, a Wi-Fi hot spot, HD Radio, a 14-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, four USB ports, wireless device charging, and automatic climate control, keyless entry, and a panoramic sunroof.

When it comes to safety, all models should come standard with goodies like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rearview camera, parking sensors, road sign recognition, automatic high beams etc.
