2024 Lexus RX 350: Preview, Changes, Price, Redesign

The most popular mid-size SUV on the market has just been redesigned and the 2024 Lexus RX 350 will represent the second production year of the new generation. Therefore, we are pretty sure it won’t feature bigger changes. This particular version will continue with the recently introduced turbo-four powertrain and it will continue with all the novelties we’ve seen with the recent overhaul. Of course, we won’t exclude the possibility to see minor updates, such as a few additions to the list of standard features.

If you’ve been driving previous generations of the RX, you know what to expect from the new model. The Japanese manufacturer didn’t bring any radical change and the new model represents an evolution of the familiar design and ride quality. The RX puts focus on comfort and convenience, rather than athleticism and driving experience.

Considering that we are talking about the second production year, which won’t bring any bigger updates, we presume that the 2024 Lexus RX 350 will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2023.

2024 Lexus RX 350 Design

Design-wise, we don’t expect any changes. This will be the second production year of the new generation, which has finally switched to the TNGA platform. As a consequence, the handling is a little bit better, though the suspension setup is as soft as it’s been in the previous model. So, the ride is mostly about comfort. The vehicle absorbs road imperfections in such a nice manner, which makes this SUV an excellent choice for anyone who practices long journeys frequently.

Of course, the recent redesign brought new styling, which brings a more conventional look than before. Everything feels a little bit calmer than before, though the overall appearance is still very attractive and very appealing.

The recent redesign brought a lot of evolutionary changes, but there were some pretty radical as well. this particularly refers to the cabin design, which looks more attractive now, thanks to more dynamic lines and new tech features. It’s worth mentioning that the new generation uses a touchscreen, rather than the old touchpad. The materials are finer than before, while things like attention to detail and overall build quality are at the level you would expect from a Lexus – excellent.

The new generation features a 2.4-inches longer wheelbase than its predecessor, which brings notable benefits regarding passenger space. Both rows are very generous with space and accommodate adults with ease. Also, the front seats are among the best in the class in terms of comfort. The side support is also pretty good, as well as the overall driving position.

The cargo area is definitely one of the weakest points of the new generation. You may count on about 30 cubic feet of cargo space behind its rear seats and 46.2 cubic feet of the total volume, which is one of the lowest ratings in the class.

Since we are talking about the second model year of the generation, we are pretty sure that most things are about to remain the same. Therefore, base models should come equipped with goodies like a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, a 9.8-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio, satellite radio, a 12-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, six USB ports, Wi-Fi hot spot, keyless entry, push-button start, multi-zone automatic climate control and ambient lighting. Among options, expect to find things like a moonroof, a digital key app, a 14-inch touch screen, navigation, the Hey Lexus virtual assistant, a 21-speaker stereo and wireless device charging.

In terms of safety features, base models should come standard with goodies like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams etc.

2024 Lexus RX 350 Engine

The 2024 Lexus RX 350 will continue with the same, recently-introduced turbo-four engine, which replaced the good-old 3.5-liter V6. The new 2.4-liter turbo-four puts out around 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, which is about 20 horses less compared to the V6, but also about 50 pound-feet more. The new engine comes in pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to either front or all wheels.

When it comes to fuel economy, you may count on about 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, which is some of the highest ratings in the segment.

Besides the turbo-four, the new RX is also available with three hybrid powertrains, including two classic hybris and one plug-in hybrid configuration.

2024 Lexus RX 350 Release Date and Price

As there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2024 Lexus RX 350 will arrive sometime in the last quarter of 2023. The starting price should go around 49.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Mercedes-Benz GLE, BMW X5, Acura MDX etc.
