2024 Honda Pilot Redesign: Release Date, Interior, Price, Spy Shots

The Pilot has been widely recognized as an excellent family hauler and we are pretty sure that the 2024 Honda Pilot could only become better, considering that it’s about to receive a complete redesign. Yes, the new generation is on the way and from what we know so far, there are some pretty interesting novelties to come.

This redesign should bring various changes, starting from the new platform, which should open up some new possibilities regarding new technologies and design solutions. Of course, we will also see a new styling, while the next generation will also bring slightly bigger dimensions. Improvements are expected on the inside as well, where we should see finer materials, new technologies and even more passenger and cargo space. On the other hand, things under the hood should remain pretty similar, although some sources speculate about electrification.

The all-new 2024 Honda Pilot should arrive sometime in the second half of 2023.

2024 Honda Pilot Redesign

As we already mentioned, this redesign is about to bring novelties in various aspects. Of course, the first thing we should talk about is the new platform. The new 2024 Honda Pilot will share most of the parts with the recently redesigned Acura MDX. So, we presume that the wheelbase will be stretched by 2.8 inches, which increase in other dimensions seems certain as well.

Naturally, the new platform will bring a new suspension setup, so we count on further improvements regarding ride quality. Still, we don’t expect to see significant improvements in this aspect, considering that the outgoing model already offers a very smooth and comfortable ride. It’s not a particular athlete but that shouldn’t be considered a drawback, as we are talking about a typical family hauler.

Exterior

When it comes to the exterior design, we already mentioned that the new generation will get bigger. We will see a 2.8-inch wheelbase increase, which means that the new model will feature 113.8 inches between the axles. We also noticed that the test mule features a longer hood, which should make the SUV look sportier and more appealing in general.

The test mule still wears camouflage, so it’s hard to talk about details. Still, we can see that the new generation will feature a bolder and more rugged shape. We presume that the front end will feature sharper and boxier lines and shapes, similar to models like Ford Explorer. The rest of the SUV looks pretty common, like a typical SUV.

Interior

Of course, the new generation will also bring a completely new interior design. At this point, we still don’t know the details but we expect improvements in various aspects. This refers to things like new dashboard design, finer materials and improvements in terms of the overall build quality. Naturally, we also count on lots of new tech features, including a new infotainment system, with a bigger screen. A digital instrument cluster is another thing we expect to see on the list of standard equipment.

Considering the slight size increase, the 2024 Honda Pilot interior should also be more spacious. We count on a little bit more passenger room, though we have to say that the current generation is already pretty generous in this aspect. The same thing goes for the cargo area, which is already pretty impressive and one of the biggest in the class.

2024 Honda Pilot Engine

When it comes to the powertrain, we expect that the current 3.5-liter V6 will carry on. The current version puts out around 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. The new one may get a slight power increase, to around 290 horsepower. On the other hand, what’s about to be new is the transmission, as we expect to see a new 10-speed unit installed. Base models will feature front-wheel drive, while the company’s well-known SH-AWD will be available.

Some sources also speculate about electrification. Allegedly, we would see a new hybrid system, based on a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine. The officials are still quiet on this matter.
