2024 Honda Prologue EV: Preview, Specs, Features

0

The automotive world is getting toward full electrification and even more, conservative companies on this matter have started to work on their all-electric vehicle. Of course, Honda is no exception and it is expected that the first EV for the North American market will arrive already in the next year. The new model will debut as the 2024 Honda Prologue EV and despite that the company tries to hide details about it, we know some of the aspects of the vehicle, especially when it comes to aesthetics.

The new all-electric SUV will feature pretty impressive dimensions and an athletic stance. At the same time, it will come with a stylish and elegant interior, full of modern tech and convenience features. When it comes to the powertrain, we still don’t know much, but we know for sure that this Honda, along with other future models, will use GM’s battery technology called Ultium.

We expect that the 2024 Honda Prologue EV will arrive in the second half of 2023.

2024 Honda Prologue EV Design

The company’s first all-electric vehicle for the North American market is almost done and we can see a  pretty attractive crossover. The first thing you’ll notice about this SUV is the styling, which combines futuristic and conservative aesthetical solutions in such a nice fashion. Therefore, it’s no wonder that the front end looks pretty bolt and pretty stylish at the same time. We particularly like those massive air intakes on the front bumper, which look great in a combination with a subtle grille design.

The standard 21-inch wheels clearly indicate that this is a pretty large vehicle. Although officially classified as a compact SUV, this vehicle is actually 8 inches longer than the current CR-V. What’s particularly impressive is the wheelbase, which goes all away up to 121.6 inches, which is more than 10 inches longer compared to the mid-size Pilot. This leads us to pretty short overhangs, which is another reason why this model looks so attractive and so athletic.

Interior

On the inside, you can clearly see Honda’s new design philosophy. The dashboard features a similar design approach to the new CR-V model, even though it doesn’t feature that honeycomb pattern. We like the fact that the cabin doesn’t look overly futuristic and that there are a lot of conventional design solutions. Of course, these conventional design solutions come in a combination with lots of modern tech features. You may count on an 11-inch digital instrument cluster, as well as on an 11.3-inch infotainment screen.

The super-long wheelbase promises plenty of cabin space, especially for the rear passengers. The cargo area should be very generous with space as well but we don’t believe that the company could offer a three-row version. It all indicates that the 2024 Honda Prologue EV will be offered only as a two-seater.

2024 Honda Prologue EV Drivetrain and Battery

At this point, not many details are available in terms of the drivetrain and power. So, the only thing we can do is presume that the 2024 Honda Prologue EV will be offered in both 2WD and AWD variants, though it’s still early to talk about power figures.

On the other hand, we know that the new SUV will use GM’s Ultium battery technology. So far, no one came up with the capacity but we heard some estimations about the range, which should go between 250 and 320 miles, rumors say.

2024 Honda Prologue EV Release and Price

We expect that the brand-new 2024 Honda Prologue EV will debut sometime in the second half of the next year. The latest estimations suggest a starting price of around 45.000 dollars, while the most expensive versions would cost around $55.000.
