The German sports carmaker is currently in the process of massive electrification. There is the Taycan, which has been around for a while, while the 718 and Macan are coming pretty soon. Soon after, the company will introduce the all-electric iteration of the popular mid-size crossover, the all-electric Cayenne. We expect to see it in about a year or two, with the 2025 Porsche Cayenne moniker. Interestingly, this won’t be a flagship SUV anymore, as the company prepares another, full-size SUV for the near future.
However, the new all-electric iteration doesn’t mean that the gas-powered model will end its production right after. Just like in the case of Macan, the ICE variant will remain in production for a few more years. Moreover, the hybrid version will be upgraded next year, with a bigger battery and extender all-electric range.
The 2025 Porsche Cayenne will most likely hit the market sometime in the second half of the year.

2025 Porsche Cayenne Is Getting All-Electric
So, the Cayenne is yet another model that is going toward full electrification. So far, the company has officially confirmed the arrival of the 2025 Porsche Cayenne EV but didn’t offer any details. From what we know so far, the new model will ride on the PPE architecture and it is expected to implement the battery technology we’ve seen in Taycan, with further improvements that are expected in the next few years. Details about power and performance, on the other hand, are still unavailable.
Other than the all-electric powertrain, the 2025 Porsche Cayenne EV will feature a familiar design approach. Just like the current, third-generation model, it will be a mid-size SUV, with a familiar silhouette and pretty similar proportions. As for the aesthetics, we presume that the company will implement its new design language, with new headlights, similar to those found on the Taycan and upcoming Macan.

2025 Porsche Cayenne ICE Models Will Carry On Beyond 2025
The officials also announced that the arrival of the new all-electric powertrain won’t kill models with internal combustion engines right away. Instead, we will see the same scenario as in the case of Macan. So, the familiar versions will carry on beyond 2025, though we won’t exclude the possibility to see a couple of updates meantime. We might see some minor styling changes, interior updates and, finally, powertrain updates. Speaking of the powertrain updates, the company already announced updates of Hybrid powertrains.

As we’ve just mentioned, the next year’s model is about to get an update of hybrid models. From what we know so far, the company is planning to install a new, bigger battery and increase the all-electric range. As for the power figures, we still don’t know if the upcoming update is about to bring updates in this aspect.
The current model is available in two hybrid variants. The first one is based on a V6 engine and it offers a combined output of 455 horsepower, which is enough to move this large SUV from zero to sixty in just 4.7 seconds. On the other hand, the more capable version, called Turbo S E-Hybrid is based on a V8 engine and offers a pretty impressive max output of 670 horsepower and 633 pound-feet of torque. With all that power, this variant of Cayenne hits 60 in just 3.6 seconds, while the top speed goes all way up to 183 miles per hour.
Gas-Only Models Will Also Carry On
From what we know so far, gas-only models will also carry on without more important changes. Therefore, base versions should continue with a good-old 3.0-liter turbo V6, which puts out 335 horsepower. The well-known 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6, found in the Cayenne S, will also come without changes. It features a max output of 434 horsepower and offers pretty respectable performance, being able to hit 60 in 5 seconds.
The V8 offer starts with the Cayenne GTS, which uses a well-known 4.0-liter twin-turbo, with a max output of 453 horsepower and 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds. The Cayenne Turbo hit 60 in just 3.7 seconds thanks to the upgraded version of the same V8 engine, with a max output of 541 horsepower. Finally, the Turbo GT comes with an even more powerful version of this engine, with a max output of 631 horsepower and impressive acceleration that includes 0-60 times in just 3.1 seconds.
All engines come coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
2025 Porsche Cayenne Release Date and Price
We expect to see the 2025 Porsche Cayenne will arrive sometime in the second half of 2025, with the gas model starting at around 73.000 dollars. Hybrid models should start slightly under 90.000 dollars, while details about the all-electric version are yet to be announced.
