The new generation also features a longer wheelbase and bigger overall dimensions. So, it’s no wonder that the amount of passenger room is very generous. Features
Considering that we are talking about the second production year, it’s hard to expect bigger changes regarding the standard and available features. Therefore, base models should carry on in the same way, equipped with goodies like a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a USB-C port, a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, remote keyless entry etc.
The list of options currently includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touch screen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, a Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless device charging, rear USB-C ports, an eight-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, LED interior lighting, a panoramic sunroof, a power sunshade and a universal garage door opener. We don’t expect bigger changes for the next year in this aspect either.
2024 Kia Sportage Engines
Base models will continue with a familiar 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which puts out around 187 horsepower. We could say it offers adequate performance, typical for a base SUV in this segment. Fortunately, the Sportage is available in two more variants, with two hybrid powertrains that offer more power and way more torque.
The first one is a classic hybrid, which features a system that combines a 1.6-liter turbo-four engine with an electric motor, for a total output of 221 horsepower. Besides strong performance, this model also offers pretty good fuel economy, which goes around 43 miles per gallon. You can also count on a plug-in hybrid version, which puts out 261 horsepower. It offers similar fuel economy but also ensures more than 30 miles of all-electric range.
Finally, there are rumors about another powertrain option. That would be a 2.0-liter turbo-four with around 280 horsepower, which would power a high-performance version of the SUV. The officials are still quiet on this matter.
2024 Kia Sportage Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 Kia Sportage will arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 27.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like VW Tiguan, Mazda CX-5, Subaru Forester etc.
