2024 Jeep Wrangler Preview: Redesign, Colors, Electric, Magneto, Engine

Even though the sales numbers through the first half of 2022 dropped by 16 percent compared to the same period of 2021, Wrangler is still the best-selling body-on-frame SUV on the market, with a nice advantage over key rivals – Toyota 4Runner and Ford Bronco. However, Jeep doesn’t plan bigger changes for the next year and the latest reports suggest that the current generation of the legendary off-roader is about to remain in production for several more years. The 2024 Jeep Wrangler will be a typical carryover model, though there is always a chance to see a couple of updates, such as new features or new special editions.

On the other hand, the overall layout will remain the same. This SUV will continue to deliver excellent off-road performance, along with all kinds of customization options, which include two body styles, various powertrain options and more.

Since there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2024 Jeep Wrangler will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2023.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Design

As there are no significant changes to come, we know what to expect from the 2024 Jeep Wrangler. Just like the current model, the next year’s version will continue with a familiar styling, as well as with two familiar body styles. Count on two- and four-door versions, along with a full load of customization options, such as removable door and roof panels, various appearance packages etc. Speaking of the appearance packages, it is always possible to see new special editions in the next year.

Mechanically, things will remain the same. Due to solid axles on both ends, Wrangler isn’t particularly comfortable on the road. On the other hand, off-road performances are excellent. First of all, even the most basic versions come with nearly 10 inches of ground clearance, while Jeep’s proven 4×4 system is part of the standard equipment. Furthermore, skid plates and low-range gearing come standard, while there are many more upgrades available. Some of the highlights are goodies like rock rails, locking differentials, and massive all-terrain tires, while you may also count on suspension upgrades, which can raise the ground clearance all-away up to 12.9 inches of ground clearance.

Interior

The interior design will also remain unchanged. You may count on a functional cabin, which combines nice aesthetics with quality materials, while the overall dashboard layout is rather simplistic. While the build quality is good in all versions, the amount of passenger space depends on the version you choose. Base 2-door models aren’t particularly generous with the second-row space, while the four-door version accommodates three adults in the back seats pretty easily.

The same thing is with the cargo volume. Base two-door models offer no more than 12.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind its rear seats and 31.7 cubic feet of the total cargo volume. On the other hand, the four-door model is good for about 31.7 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 72.4 cubic feet with these seats folded.

Features

Novelties in terms of standard and available equipment are always possible but we are pretty sure that most things are about to remain unchanged. Therefore, all models should come standard with goodies like a 7-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, an eight-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, two USB ports, air conditioning, push-button start and manual roll-up windows and door locks.

Among upgrades, expect to find things like an 8.4-inch touch screen, navigation, a Wi-Fi hot spot, HD Radio, satellite radio, a nine-speaker stereo, automatic climate control, power windows and door locks, keyless entry and remote start.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Engines

The powertrain lineup will remain the same, with a pretty generous engine offer. Base models will continue with a good-old 3.6-liter V6, which puts out around 285 horsepower. The offer continues with a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which is good for 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Furthermore, there is a diesel version, equipped with a pretty capable 3.0-liter V6, with a max output of 260 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque.

The 2024 Jeep Wrangler will also be offered in a plug-in hybrid variant, with a system that’s based on a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which delivers a combined output of 375 horsepower. Finally, there is the Rubicon 392, equipped with the huge 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine, which puts out 475 horsepower.

All engines come in pair with a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission, while the base V6 is also available with a manual gearbox.
