By After the recent redesign of the Lexus LX, the QX80 remains the oldest vehicle in the class of full-size luxury SUVs. It’s been around for nearly 12 years and despite the recent updates, it feels outdated in many aspects. That’s why it’s no wonder that the company works on the new generation. The new model should come sometime in the second half of 2023, as the 2024 Infiniti QX80. If we can trust the latest reports, it will bring lots of significant changes.
This will be an all-new model and if we can trust the latest reports, it won’t be so similar to the Armada anymore. It looks like the new generation will be different from Nissan’s sibling, though we still don’t know in which aspects this will happen. In any case, we expect to see a completely new design, which will bring a new powertrain as well.

2024 Infiniti QX80 Design
The next year will bring an all-new QX80 and if we can rely on the words of Infiniti Chairman Peyman Kargar, this will be much more than a typical redesign. This model is about to shape Infiniti’s design approach for the future, whether it’s about aesthetics, interior design or technologies. Also, Kargar stated that the new 2024 Infiniti QX80 will differentiate from the Armada.
The latter will be particularly interesting to see, considering that the QX80 has always been in a tight connection with the Armada. So far, the two models have been sharing most of the parts, starting from the platform, engine and the rest of the mechanics. So, does this mean that the new QX80 will ride on a different platform, or just feature a different engine and chassis setup, it’s really hard to say at this point.

Exterior and Interior Design
The 2024 Infiniti QX80 will bring a completely new design approach to the brand. It is about establishing the brand’s new design language but, unfortunately, we still don’t know what the new aesthetics will look like. In any case, this design language will be used for future Infiniti models as well, including the first all-electric model, which is coming in 2024.
The same story is with interior design. We still don’t know the details but we know that the design patterns will be used in other models as well. What we know for sure is that the current cabin looks quite old, so this redesign will certainly bring radical changes.
2024 Infiniti QX80 Engine
The engine is another important aspect of the 2024 Infiniti QX80. The good-old 5.6-liter V8 has been around for ages and it will finally be replaced. However, we still don’t know much about the replacement. At this point, we know it will probably be a turbo-four, but everything else is currently in the domain of speculations.
Some sources speculate about the 3.0-liter twin-turbo from the Infiniti Q50 and Nissan Z models. While that 400-hp engine is a great unit, we think that the new QX80 rather needs something with way more torque. This engine offers just 350 pound-feet, which is significantly less compared to the outgoing V8, which is good for 413 pound-feet. One of the possibilities is to see a turbocharged version of the new 3.8-liter V6, which debuted in the new Frontier.
Besides the new engine, we also count on a new transmission, probably a 10-speed unit.

2024 Infiniti QX80 Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2024 Infiniti QX80 will arrive sometime in the second half of 2023. The current model starts at around 71.000 dollars but we are pretty sure that the next generation will cost more. Models like Lexus LX and Range Rover will remain some of the key competitors.
