By The Duster is one of the most successful models from the Romanian carmaker. Known for excellent value for money, this compact SUV has been around for about 12 years and during that period, the company sold over 2 million units. We are pretty sure that this number will continue to grow, especially if we consider that the company is already working on the new, third generation of the SUV. The current version has been around since 2017, with the facelift introduced in 2021. The complete redesign is planned for the next year when we are about to see the 2024 Dacia Duster.
From what we know so far, this redesign will bring bigger changes than the previous one. While the second generation came as an evolution of the original design, the third generation is expected to bring a completely new design, based on the new platform. We also count on a lot of novelties in terms of powertrain, including electrification.
The 2024 Dacia Duster is expected to hit the market sometime in the second half of the year.

The 2024 Dacia Duster will come completely redesigned and that redesign will bring all kinds of changes. The first thing that comes to mind is the platform. The current model still rides on the B0 platform and it is the only model in the lineup that rides on that older-generation architecture. This will change soon and the new Duster will switch to the CMF-B architecture, which will bring various benefits. Among other upgrades, this platform will also bring all kinds of new possibilities regarding electrification etc.
Of course, we are also about to see a completely new styling. Although the officials are yet to present the new SUV, we presume that a lot of inspiration will be taken from the Bigster concept, which previewed the company’s new mid-size SUV. This means that the new Duster would come with a muscular design, characterized by a bold front end, massive fenders and other details that would make this SUV look very rugged. Of course, we will also see the company’s new logo.
One of the things that are certain is that the next generation will continue with excellent off-road performance. The familiar and well-proven 4WD system will carry on with further improvements, while the new model should continue with the same or better ground clearance and approach and departure angles. The current model sits 217 mm from the ground, while approach and departure angles are 30 and 33 degrees, respectively.
Interior
This aspect of the new 2024 Dacia Duster is still a mystery. Of course, we may presume that the company will continue to balance between quality and affordability. Still, things should look much better than in the current model, particularly in terms of materials and aesthetics. Naturally, we also count on new tech features, including bigger screens, a new infotainment system, new connectivity options etc.

When it comes to interior space, we expect to see slight improvements over the current model. The dimensions will largely remain the same, though the new model could gain a few millimeters in wheelbase and total lengths, which would provide additional passenger and cargo space.
2024 Dacia Duster Engines
When it comes to powertrain, we expect to see a lot in terms of electrification, while diesel units will become past. We presume that a majority of models will come with Renault’s familiar 1.2-liter turbo-four, which comes in several output variants. Of course, each version would come with a mild-hybrid setup.
We also count on full hybrid versions. These models should feature the same system as models like Renault Captur and Nissan Juke. That would be a combination of a 1.6-liter naturally-aspirated inline-four and a single electric motor. The engine puts out 98 horsepower, while the electric motor features a max power of 48 hp. The system comes coupled with a 1.2-kWh battery pack.
Some sources suggest a plug-in hybrid version as well. In that case, the 1.2-kWh battery would be replaced with a 9.8-kWh battery pack.
