2023 Infiniti QX80 Redesign, Price, and Release Date

0

The current generation of Infiniti’s flagship SUV has been around since 2010. It still features the good old layout based on the Patrol Y62, so it’s no wonder that many reports suggest a complete redesign for the next year. The officials are still quiet about this but if we consider that the current model feels outdated in many aspects and that most rivals are significantly younger, it makes perfect sense to expect such a thing. Many believe that the completely redesigned model could arrive already in 2023 Infiniti QX80.

At this point, it’s hard to talk about more precise details, as we can rely on rumors only. Still, we presume that most changes will be evolutionary. However, the new model would come with significant upgrades as well, especially in terms of the interior design and new powertrain. Speaking of the powertrain, the new generation would most likely come with fewer cylinders than the current one.

In any case, we are still waiting for the officials, so make sure to take the following paragraphs with a big reserve.

2023 Infiniti QX80 Redesign

The all-new 2023 Infiniti QX80 would come with all kinds of novelties. However, we expect to see an evolutionary design approach. This means that the new generation would probably continue to ride on the good-old F-Alpha platform, though the architecture would be significantly upgraded. This would mean a completely new chassis and suspension setup, which would ensure significantly better ride quality, even though we have to say that the current model already offers a surprisingly high level of athleticism if we consider its age.

When it comes to the styling, the current model was updated a few years ago and still looks gorgeous. Therefore, we don’t expect to see anything radical in the new generation.

Interior

Unlike the exterior, the interior doesn’t look all that great. Not many things have changed since the initial launch in 2010, so it’s no wonder that the cabin looks pretty outdated. This particularly refers to the dashboard aesthetics, which belong to the previous era of the automotive industry. Furthermore, the materials could be better, as well as the overall build quality.

The current-generation interior looks outdated

Those are aspects where we expect to see changes in the future. The next-generation 2023 Infiniti QX80 should get a completely new layout, with a modern design and lots of new tech and convenience features. This includes the latest infotainment features, including a massive infotainment screen, as well as a digital instrument cluster. Naturally, we count on more connectivity features, as well as on a long list of advanced safety features.

On the other hand, we don’t expect to see more significant changes regarding dimensions, so the amount of passenger space should remain pretty similar to the current model. This would mean three quite spacious rows of seats, along with a pretty decent cargo capacity.

2023 Infiniti QX80 Engines

Big changes are expected under the hood. The current generation still uses a good-old 5.6-liter V8, which comes in pair with a 7-speed automatic transmission. The engine puts out around 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque and offers pretty impressive driving dynamics. Moreover, the whole system is smooth and refined. However, it has one huge drawback – poor fuel economy that doesn’t go any better than 14 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway.

That’s why we expect to see something far more efficient under the hood of the new 2023 Infiniti QX80. We are pretty sure that would be a turbocharged V6. One of the possibilities would be to see the old and proven 3.0-liter turbo-four from Q50 and Q60 models, which puts out around 400 horsepower. However, we believe that the company would rather come up with something new, something that could provide more torque for this large and heavy machine. We believe that could be a turbocharged version of the new 3.8-liter V6 that powers the new Frontier. Also, we expect a new transmission, probably a 10-speed unit.

2023 Infiniti QX80 Release Date and Price

We believe that the 2023 Infiniti QX80 could arrive already by the end of this year. The current model starts at around 71.000 dollars but the new generation would probably be a little bit more expensive. On the other hand, the competition will remain the same – Lexus LX, Lincoln Navigator, Cadillac Escalade etc.
