2023 Dodge Journey Price, Rumors and Expectations

2

Not so long ago, the Journey was discontinued from the U.S. market. The three-row crossover had been in production for more than a decade and it was left without a successor. However, after the recent merger with PSA, it looks like the familiar nameplate could come back. At this point, it’s just a rumor but if we consider that Dodge definitely needs some fresh blood in its lineup, we may actually see this nameplate again.

At this point, we can only speculate about the new 2023 Dodge Journey. We presume the new model would also be designed as a family hauler, with a design that combines minivan and crossover elements. Allegedly, the new model would be based on Alfa Romeo’s platform, which would bring a lot of big novelties to the Dodge lineup.

2023 Dodge Journey Design

As we already mentioned, the 2023 Dodge Journey is still just a rumor, so all we can do is speculate about it. Still, one of the things that seem quite likely is the platform choice. The new model would use Alfa Romeo’s platform Giorgio, the same one that underpins models like Stelvio and Guilia. It would be the first Dodge to ride on this platform. Of course, one of the key benefits would be the RWD layout, but the new architecture would also bring tons of new technologies, as well as a significant weight reduction compared to everything that’s in Dodge’s current lineup.

When it comes to the exterior design, we presume that the Journey would remain in the mid-size segment. We expect a body style that combines elements of a crossover and minivan, designed in the way to be a perfect family hauler. What’s interesting is that Dodge hasn’t launched an all-new model for years, which means that we are about to see a completely new design language established.

Interior

When it comes to interior design, the first thing that comes to mind is the spacious and practical cabin. Of course, we expect a three-row configuration, with the ability to accommodate 7 or 8 adults with ease. The cargo area should offer plenty of room as well.

On the other hand, things like a dashboard design are still a mystery. As we already mentioned, Dodge hasn’t launched a new model for a while, so the new dash would probably look notably different compared to everything we have in Dodge’s current lineup. We count on new aesthetics, finer materials and way more tech features.

2023 Dodge Journey Engine

When it comes to powertrain, we presume that the 2023 Dodge Journey would come in a variety of options on the offer. Base models would probably come with a 2.0-liter turbo-four, with a max output of around 280 horsepower, most likely. That certainly wouldn’t be the only powertrain option on the offer. We would expect some kind of electrification as well and the Wrangler’s PHEV system seems like a perfect fit. That system is also based on a turbo-four system and delivers a pretty respectable max output of 375 horsepower.

High-performance versions don’t seem all that likely. Even if they come, we doubt they would come with eight cylinders. Instead, the FCA has been developing an inline-six engine codenamed Hurricane for years and it looks like it’s finally production-ready. The base version of this twin-turbo inline-six should be good for about 400 horsepower.

2023 Dodge Journey Release Date and Price

At this point, the 2023 Dodge Journey is just a rumor. However, the same rumors suggest it could arrive already in the next year. If it arrives, we presume that base models would go somewhere around 35.000 dollars, roughly.
