2023 Chevrolet Suburban May Get Super Cruise!?

0

The legendary SUV has been around for ages and it is currently in the 12th generation. Since the last redesign happened less than two years ago, we are pretty sure it won’t feature bigger changes. Some sources suggest that the new Suburban might come with Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system, though many things will depend on the availability of semiconductors. The rest of the vehicle should remain largely the same, with a familiar layout and features. We expect that the 2023 Chevrolet Suburban will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.

You may count on an SUV that has so many great things to offer. We love its super-spacious cabin, with a full load of tech and driver-assistance features. We also like the powertrain lineup, which is full of capable engines. Finally, the infotainment system is pretty intuitive. On the other hand, the biggest complaint goes to maneuverability, but that’s normal if we consider the vehicle’s huge dimensions.

2023 Chevrolet Suburban Design

The 2023 Chevrolet Suburban will represent the third production year of the current generation and therefore, we don’t expect to see bigger changes. It’s still early for a mid-cycle update, so we are about to see a familiar design, based on the T1 platform. Most of the mechanics are shared with the Tahoe, though the Suburban features a notably longer wheelbase and bigger overall dimensions.

Visually, the front end has a lot in common with the Silverado pickup. However, things are notably different under the skin. This particularly refers to the suspension setup, where the Suburban comes standard with independent rear suspension. That’s highly beneficial in terms of comfort, as well as handling. Moreover, it also leaves more space in the cargo area.

Interior

For most Suburban buyers, this is the most important aspect of the vehicle. They love its tremendous amounts of space, both for the passengers and for the cargo. Of course, three rows of seats are standard and the SUV accommodates up to eight adults with ease. Even the third row is very generous with space.

Another impressive thing about the Suburban is the cargo area. You may count on about 41.5 cubic feet of space behind the third-row seats, 93.8 cubic feet with these seats folded, and 144.7 cubic feet of the total cargo volume, which is significantly more than you get from Suburban’s biggest rival, Ford Expedition Max. Along with the corporal twin, GMC Yukon XL, Chevy’s SUV is an absolute class leader.

When it comes to interior quality, things are OK. We can’t say that something looks bad, but the fact is that several areas are covered with hard plastics and cheap materials.

Features

As we’ve just mentioned, the biggest novelty for the 2023 Chevrolet Suburban should be the addition of Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system. Other than that, things should remain pretty much the same. Therefore, all models should come standard with tri-zone climate control, keyless entry, push-button start, remote start, a 10.2-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, eight USB ports, HD Radio, satellite radio, a six-speaker stereo, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. Also, there are available upgrades like a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, navigation, nine- and 10-speaker stereos, and a rear-seat entertainment system with two 12.6-inch touch screens.

When it comes to safety, base models should come standard with a rearview camera, parking sensors, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, automatic high beams etc. Among upgrades, expect to find things like blind-spot monitoring, surround-view camera, head-up display, adaptive cruise control, safety alert seat etc.

2023 Chevrolet Suburban Engines

We are about to see three familiar powertrain options on the offer. Of course, base models will carry on with a good-old 5.3-liter V8, which puts out around 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. That’s plenty enough to move this large SUV quite easily, we would rather recommend the optional 6.2-liter V8, which puts out 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

For those who care about fuel economy, there is a 3.0-liter inline-six turbodiesel, which puts out 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. That large amount of torque ensures an effortless ride, while you may also count on an average fuel economy of around 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, which is impressive for a vehicle of this size.

2023 Chevrolet Suburban Release Date and Price

We expect to see the 2023 Chevrolet Suburban sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 54.000 dollars.
