2023 Audi Q7 Preview: What To Expect

0

Some cars are capable of remaining relevant on the market for a very long time and Audi Q7 is one of these models. The current generation of this mid-size three-row crossover has been around since 2015 but it is still one of the best models in the class. That’s why the Ingolstadt company isn’t rushing with the redesign and why the 2023 Audi Q7 is most likely to carry on in the same way, without more important changes.

What we expect to see is a familiar design, which offers plenty of good things, starting from the pretty impressive ride quality, which combines comfort and athleticism in such a nice fashion. Also, we like the cabin quality and a large number of tech features. Furthermore, there are few quite capable engine options on offer. When it comes to drawbacks, the biggest one is a cramped third row, while the fuel economy could be better.

Since there are no significant changes to come, we expect that the 2023 Audi Q7 will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of 2022.

2023 Audi Q7 Redesign

As we already mentioned, the current generation has been around since 2015. However, the 2023 Audi Q7 will continue with all the updates that were introduced with the 2020 model, which include several styling updates, such as a new grille, new headlights, bumpers and more. The next year won’t bring styling changes, though there is always a chance to see things like new color options etc.

Still, the Q7’s strongest point has always been the ride quality. We really like the chassis setup, which combined comfort and athleticism in such a nice fashion. Moreover, the range-topping Prestige model comes with adjustable air suspension, which makes the ride even better.

Interior

On the inside, you may count on a typical Audi level of quality. The materials are really nice while the thing that really impresses is the build quality, along with excellent fit and finish. The dashboard combines conservative design solutions with modern tech features and all that has a highly positive impact on aesthetics.

2023 Audi Q7 Interior

When it comes to the interior space, the first two rows are very generous. Also, the front seats are massive and supportive, while the driving position is very good, both in terms of ergonomics and visibility. On the other hand, the third row is really tight and can accommodate kids only.

The cargo capacity won’t impress you either and if this is one of your main concerns, you should rather consider a more practical Volvo XC90. The Audi Q7 offers around 14.2 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 35.7 cubic feet behind the second, and 69.6 cubic feet behind the front row. That’s below average for the segment.

Features

This aspect of the 2023 Audi Q7 shouldn’t bring bigger surprises. We expect to see a pretty similar list of standard equipment to the 2022 model. That means that base versions should come with tri-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch upper touch screen, an 8.6-inch lower touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Audi’s Virtual Cockpit, navigation, Bluetooth, USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, satellite radio, HD Radio, and a 10-speaker stereo. Higher trim levels should also offer upgrades like quad-zone climate control, wireless device charging, a 19-speaker Bose stereo, and a 23-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.

When it comes to safety, all models should come standard with goodies like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, lane departure warning, rain-sensing wipers, front and rear parking sensors, etc.

2023 Audi Q7 Engines

Things under the hood definitely won’t change and the 2023 Audi Q7 will continue with familiar engine options on the offer. Therefore, base versions should continue with a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 248 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The next engine on offer is a 3.0-liter V6, which is good for about 335 horsepower and offers notably better performance.

For those who enjoy the sporty ride, versions with eight cylinders are the best choice. In the case of the Q7, there is the SQ7 model, which features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which is good for about 500 horsepower 568 pound-feet of torque.

All engines come in pair with 8-speed automatic transmission.

2023 Audi Q7 Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2023 Audi Q7 will arrive sometime in the last quarter of 2022, with a starting price of around 57.000 dollars.
