2023 Audi Q3 Sportback: Changes, Facelift, Release Date, Price, Interior

0

The current generation of Audi’s subcompact crossover has been around since 2019 and the 2023 Audi Q3 Sportback will represent the fifth production year. Therefore, the Ingolstadt company has prepared a couple of updates, mostly very subtle. There are some new color options, as well as new interior features, while the Black Optic package is now available in base versions as well. On the other hand, the overall layout remains the same, so the next year’s model will continue with familiar design characteristics and features.

This means that you may count on a model that comes standard with all-wheel drive and offers pretty composed handling. We particularly like the model’s interior design, which offers pretty impressive quality and tons of tech features. However, the current model isn’t without flaws, as the cargo area is pretty small, while the transmission setup could have been done better

As we’ve just mentioned, the German carmaker brings a couple of updates for the 2023 Audi Q3 Sportback. However, there are no visual changes, but rather just new color options and three new wheel designs. Other than that, things remain the same. This refers not just to the styling, but to the mechanical aspect of the vehicle as well.

Speaking of the mechanics, this model is a little bit different compared to other Audi SUVs. It rides on a less common MQB platform, which is primarily used for more economical VW models. The key difference is in the layout, as this platform brings a transversally mounted engine instead of a longitudinal setup. As we already mentioned, all-wheel drive is standard but keep in mind that this model doesn’t feature a Torsen differential, like normal Quattro models do, but rather a Haldex, so it’s no wonder that experts argue about whether this SUV features real all-wheel drive system or note. In any case, the handling is composed and provides a pretty good driving experience.

Interior

The cabin design is arguably Q3’s strongest point. It features excellent build quality. The materials are very nice, and there is also a lot of attention to detail. We particularly like the look of the dashboard, which combines conservative aesthetics with quality materials and lots of tech features. Such a combination makes this cabin look very stylish.

When it comes to cabin space, the front seats are very spacious and comfortable. They are well-shaped and offer good support, while the driving position is very good too. The second row is also quite spacious and accommodates adult passengers in a nice fashion, though the sloping roof compromises headroom a little bit. For the same reason, the cargo area is smaller compared to most competitors.

Features

As we already mentioned, the 2023 Audi Q3 Sportback brings a couple of novelties in terms of features. One of them is the new design of a wireless charging pad, while there is also a newly available 15-speaker audio system.

Still, most of the features are the same as in the previous model year. Base versions come standard with goodies like an 8.8-inch touch screen, a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, gesture controls, handwriting recognition, wireless device charging, four USB ports, HD Radio, a 10-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, tri-zone automatic climate control, a power liftgate and a panoramic sunroof.

Among available features, you can find goodies like a 10.1-inch touch screen, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, Amazon Alexa Auto, navigation, a Wi-Fi hot spot, satellite radio and a 15-speaker Sonos audio system, proximity keyless entry, a hands-free power liftgate, a universal garage door opener, push-button start and remote start.

2023 Audi Q3 Sportback Engines

This aspect brings no changes and the 2023 Audi Q3 Sportback continues in two familiar versions, both equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine. Base versions are good for about 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, which is enough to ensure a pleasant driving and decent driving experience. However, we would rather recommend the more powerful version of this engine, which puts out 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, which offers notably better driving dynamics and overall performance.

Both units come in pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which is not the quickest one but operates smoothly. When it comes to fuel economy, the base engine returns around 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, while the more powerful version is good for about 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
