2022 Lexus LX 570 Super Sport, Price, Release date, Interior, Hybrid

If we can trust the latest reports, the Japanese carmaker won’t rush with the redesign of the LX SUV. Most likely, the new generation will come in a little bit more than a year, as the 2023 model. Therefore, we are pretty sure that the 2022 Lexus LX 570 will come without more important changes. We count on the same design, though minor tweaks are always possible, especially things like new color options and similar things. The rest of the vehicle will remain untouched.

This means that you may count on the familiar pros and cons of this luxury SUV. The current generation has been around since 2008, so we can say it has no secrets. It offers exceptional off-road capability, along with unparalleled reliability. All that comes in a pretty luxurious package, which is something no other luxury SUV can offer. That’s why we like the LX, even though it’s old and outdated in many aspects.

2022 Lexus LX 570 Redesign

As we already mentioned, the current generation has been around for nearly 14 years. Still, we saw a couple of updates during this long lifespan, so we can tell the current model still looks quite attractive. It features the brand’s well-known spindle grille and looks pretty robust and capable. The 2022 Lexus LX 570 shouldn’t bring any styling change. This will be the final production year, most likely, so even minor tweaks like new colors aren’t expected.

The same thing goes for mechanics. This model relies on old and proven technology, which is the reason why it’s the most reliable vehicle in the class by a large margin. Also, we like its off-road capability. All models come standard with off-road features like a full-time 4WD, adjustable suspension, crawl control, multi-terrain select modes, and a front-view terrain camera etc.

Interior

Despite the age, we still like the LX’s interior. Yes, its dashboard may look a little bit outdated but the overall quality is exceptional. Things like fit and finish are amazing, while the materials are impressive as well. Furthermore, we adore the seats, which are some of the best you can find on the market. Also, the driving position is very good and provides good visibility in all directions.

Besides exceptional build quality, this cabin is also quite spacious. Base models come with two comfortable rows of seats, while the third row is optional. However, the third row isn’t particularly spacious and it would serve well only for kids.

The standard two-row version offers 53.7 cubic feet behind the second row, while the total volume goes around 81.3 cubic feet. On the other hand, the three-row model offers 16.3 cubic feet behind the third row, 41.6 behind the second and also 81.3 cubic feet behind the first row of seats.

Features

We don’t expect to see changes in this aspect either. The list of standard equipment should be pretty much the same as in the current model, which comes standard with goodies like quad-zone automatic climate control, ambient interior lighting, a household-style power outlet, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a moonroof, proximity keyless entry, 12.3-inch display, navigation, a nine-speaker premium stereo, Bluetooth, multiple USB ports, satellite radio, voice recognition, Amazon Alexa etc. Additionally, you can get options like a center-console refrigerator, a 19-speaker Mark Levinson surround-sound stereo, wireless device charging, and a rear-seat entertainment system.

When it comes to safety, the current model comes standard with forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic high-beam headlights, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, a surround-view parking camera system, a multi-terrain view monitor, a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. We don’t expect any change for the next year in this aspect.

2022 Lexus LX 570 Engine

Under the hood, the 2022 Lexus LX 570 will continue in the same way. This SUV still uses a good-old 5.7-liter V8, which puts out 383 horsepower and 403 pound-feet of torque. That’s an adequate amount of power for a vehicle like this and the acceleration is good, though not particularly impressive. Also, the 8-speed automatic gearbox does a pretty good job, with smooth and timely shifts.

On the other hand, the biggest complaint goes to fuel economy. You may count on just 13 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway and that’s the price you have to pay for the exceptional reliability. When properly equipped, this luxury SUV can tow up to 7.000 pounds.

2022 Lexus LX 570 Release Date and Price

We expect to see the 2022 Lexus LX 570 on sale sometime late in the year, sometime in the last quarter. The price shouldn’t change too much, so base versions should go around 87.000 dollars. The competition is much younger and includes models like Lincoln Navigator, Cadillac Escalade, Mercedes-Benz GLS etc.
