Last big redesign, Sorento crossover, made by Kia, suffered in 2015. Before then, in 2010, its unibody architecture brought success of this model. Now, this vehicle continues to impress with its styling and interior design. New crossover is coming as 2018 Kia Sorento, and first spy shots have been made, but these are not uncovering too much, because vehicle was under heavy camouflage. What make fans happy is the new design, as well as new features inside the cabin. Also, new drivetrain is also possibility, as well as suspension setup.
2018 Kia Sorento redesign
As we are getting more information everyday about 2018 Kia Sorento, it is almost certain that crossover will come redesigned. Experts think that it could be still early for such changes, while fans are afraid vehicle might lose sporty look. Due to heavy camo, it is hard to see what is changed on the new crossover. Headlights and fog lights are revisited, as well as air dam. Grille has honeycomb shape, and it seems like wheel arches will be new.
Rear glass is redesigned, so better look should be provided. From spy shots, although this is still testing version of 2018 Kia Sorento, we can’t see what is waiting inside this SUV. However, even if we can peak inside, we doubt this could be final version which is going to appear at dealerships.
2018 Kia Sorento engine
Not only engine, but also transmission was mentioned in some rumors, that could be new. These are still speculations, and current powertrain could find its way to 2018 Kia Sorento. New crossover is also going to get few trims, and for example, current vehicle has seven versions and three types of engines. Entry level L and LX are having the smallest drivetrain, which could be carried over.
It is 2.4-l 4-cylinder unit. Higher EX model gets turbocharger for smaller engine, and there are special four V6 trims, with, you guess, V6 drivetrains. This one, 3.3-l unit that produces 290 hp could be boosted to crunch over 300 horses. A 6-speed automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive are standard options, while AWD comes at higher trims. There will be also Dynamax AWD models, but price of these are going to be significantly raised.
