Pretty interesting things are happening with Porsche’s compact crossover. This dynamic SUV has been around for a while, so it’s no wonder that the German manufacturer has decided to redesign it. However, that doesn’t mean that the current generation won’t be in the offer. The company is about to offer both models and things are actually pretty simple here.
The thing with the new generation is that it has been developed as an electric vehicle. However, the company wants rather offer some kind of a transition period for potential buyers, so the current generation, characterized by peppy gasoline engines, is about to remain in the offer until 2023, according to some reports. That’s the main reason why we saw its big update last year.
Both versions are expected to hit the market in the second half of the year.

2021 Porsche Macan EV
Of course, we will start with new things first and the new thing is that the compact crossover has been completely redesigned. Actually, this was more than a regular redesign, as the new model rides on the company’s new PPE architecture, which is designed on purpose for electric vehicles. Therefore, the new 2021 Porsche Macan EV will share the platform with the recently presented Taycan, as well as with all other upcoming EV models under this badge.
The thing that fans of this crossover will definitely like as that the new model sticks to most of its traditional aesthetical solutions. The new look is pretty familiar and changes compared to the previous model aren’t big at all. There are just a couple of details that accentuate the model’s all-electric character. Also, the new model is just slightly bigger.
When it comes to performances, we still don’t know the exact numbers. Still, most reports suggest several output versions, where the most capable models would be good for more than 700 horsepower. In any case, we have no doubt that this will be a pretty fast crossover. Details about the range are still unavailable.

2021 Porsche Macan Gasoline Models
As we’ve just mentioned, the current generation will remain in production for a couple of more years and after the recent update, we are pretty sure that bigger changes won’t come for the next year. That means you may count not only on a familiar design but also on the same base trim level organization. As you probably know, trim levels are divided depending on the engine you choose, but each model also comes with a different list of standard equipment.
The base model comes with a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, which delivers slightly under 250 horsepower. Besides good driving dynamics, this version also comes with a long list of standard equipment, which includes things like 18-inch wheels, front and rear parking sensors, a lane departure warning system, LED headlights, automatic wipers, heated mirrors, three-zone automatic climate control etc. Also, you may count on a 10.1-inch touchscreen, navigation, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, USB ports etc.
The S model is next in the line and it comes with a familiar 3.0-liter V6 engine, which in this case delivers around 350 horsepower. Besides significantly more power, this version comes with bigger 19-inch wheels, upgraded suspension, brakes and similar things.
Those who are looking for the authentic Porsche setup can pick the GTS model, which comes with the company’s famous 2.9-liter V6, which is good for about 375 hp and 383 lb-ft. Besides excellent performances and impressive engine sound, this version also comes with various exclusive features, including various mechanical upgrades.
Finally, there is the GTS turbo version, which comes with the same engine but more power. The total output goes up to 434 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. This is the fastest Macan you can get, but this version also comes with a long list of standard equipment. Some of the highlights are things like 14-speaker Bose audio system, Porsche Surface Coated Brakes, adaptive dampers.
