Despite the pretty good sales numbers, the Rogue definitely needs an update. The current generation has been around since 2013, which is way too long for a model that competes in probably the most competitive segment of the automotive industry today. Therefore, the great news is that the redesign is on the way. The testing model has been spotted for a couple of times so far and it looks it will hit the market in the second half of the year, as the 2021 Nissan Rogue.
We count on a lot of interesting novelties with this redesign. Of course, styling is one of the things that come to mind, as well as improved ride quality. Moreover, the new interior has been spotted and it promises a lot. Finally, it would be really nice to see novelties under the hood, although the company is still quiet on this matter. As we’ve just mentioned, the new 2021 Nissan Rogue should hit the market by the end of the year.
2021 Nissan Rogue Redesign
This redesign is about to bring a lot of interesting changes. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is the platform and it looks like the new model will carry on with a familiar CMF architecture, though there is no doubt we will see significant updates. These updates should improve ride quality and performance. When it comes to the size, we don’t expect significant changes in the 2021 Nissan Rogue. We could see a little bit more than the current 106.5 inches in the wheelbase, but overall proportions should remain pretty much the same, especially if we consider that the current model is already pretty generous when it comes to the interior space, both in terms of legroom and cargo volume.
Of course, this is one of the aspects that will bring the most significant changes. The testing model has been spotted a couple of time and it still wears a complete camouflage. So, it’s hard to talk about details at the moment, though we have to say that the overall shape looks pretty similar to the current model. As we’ve just mentioned, proportions will also remain largely the same. On the other side, we may presume that the new styling will implement some of the brand’s newest aesthetical solutions, while brand-new details are expected as well. Of course, we count on the latest iteration of the famous V-Motion grille, while headlights should be less conventional this time and come in two separate sections.
Naturally, the front end won’t be the only part of the new 2021 Nissan Rogue to get significant changes. The rest of the body will also get a new sheet metal and although we expect a familiar shape, the new model should show a little bit more muscles than the outgoing version.
Despite the age, the current generation still features a quite competitive interior design. This particularly refers to the materials and the number of standard features. However, updates are always welcome, especially when it comes to aesthetics. Spy photographers have managed to take a couple of shots of the testing model and some of them show how the new cabin will look. Due to camouflage, we can’t see the exact look of the dashboard. On the other side, we can clearly see a new touchscreen, which is large and comes in a tablet-like layout. Also, there is a big novelty on the center console, as the electronic gear shifter is about to replace good old gear level. In terms of dimensions, the new cabin shouldn’t be much different compared to the current model.
2021 Nissan Rogue Engines
Naturally, novelties are expected under the hood as well. Most likely, the current 2.5-liter unit will carry on as the base choice, though we count on some power boost. Most likely, we will see a new version with a max output of 188 horsepower. Still, that also seems a little bit underpowered for the segment, so we definitely expect to see a turbo-four option in the offer. The exact numbers should be available in the near future.
The Japanese manufacturer also tried with a hybrid version, which was discontinued recently, due to slow sales. However, we expect that the next generation will carry on with the electrification and that a new, more powerful and more efficient powertrain will be offered. Some reports also suggest the possibility to see a plug-in hybrid version in the offer.
2021 Nissan Rogue Release Date and Price
According to the latest reports, the 2021 Nissan Rogue should hit the market sometime in the second half of the year. When it comes to the price, the current model goes around 25.500 dollars and we don’t expect significant changes after this redesign. As we already mentioned, this is one of the most competitive segments in the automotive industry and some of the key players are models like Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, VW Tiguan, Ford Escape etc.
