The mid-size crossover has been renamed a couple of years ago and it’s now completely adapted to the brand’s latest policy and design language. That leads us to the conclusion that the current generation should remain in production for several more years. However, various sources suggest the 2021 Lincoln Nautilus might come with notable updates. At this point, the company is still quiet on this matter, but some sources suggest there is a couple of interesting updates to come.
Speaking of the updates, one of the things that come to mind is an interior update, particularly in terms of the infotainment system. Also, it would be great if the company offer a performance-oriented version, which is currently unavailable. On the other side, bigger exterior changes aren’t expected, considering that the current model looks pretty good. Of course, novelties in terms of standard equipment are always possible. However, we don’t expect from the 2021 Lincoln Nautilus to come much earlier than usual.

2021 Lincoln Nautilus Redesign
In terms of base design characteristics, the 2021 Lincoln Nautilus definitely won’t change. This model has been around since 2015 and it shares many of its parts with Ford Edge. It also rides on the familiar CD4 platform. On the other side, the styling has received significant updates a couple of years ago, when the company changed the naming policy and introduced this nameplate. The new styling completely follows Lincoln’s latest design language, which has been introduced with Navigator and Continental models.
Such a classical aesthetical approach will definitely keep this model good-looking for several more years. So, we have no doubt that the next year won’t bring any particular change. Still, don’t exclude the possibility for smaller updates, in terms of new color options, wheels and similar things. Finally, keep in mind that the performance-oriented model has been rumored, which could come with a couple of upgrades in terms of wheels, bumpers etc.
Interior
This is the aspect where we might see some updated. The current cabin looks good, while the overall quality is great as well. Materials are very good but the obvious problem with interior design lays in the center stack. It definitely needs some reshaping, while we also count on a bigger touchscreen. Other than that, we don’t expect bigger interior changes, except for the possible performance version.

When it comes to the base cabin layout, things are pretty clear here. The 2021 Lincoln Nautilus will carry on with the same interior dimensions, which means a lot of legroom in both rows and massive and supportive front seats. When it comes to the cargo area, numbers are pretty typical for the class. You may count 37.2 cubic feet with the rear seats up. Fold them down and you get almost 69 cubic feet of cargo volume.
Features
It’s always possible to see additions in terms of standard equipment, so 2021 Lincoln Nautilus could come with some of them as well. As we already mentioned, one of the novelties could be a bigger touchscreen. The current model comes standard with goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, an 11-speaker audio system, satellite radio, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, dual-zone climate control and more. Potential additions are on the list of currently optional features, such as navigation, a panoramic sunroof, a rear-seat entertainment system, a 13- or 19-speaker Revel audio system, HD Radio, wireless device charging etc.
The same thing is to safety features. The current model comes standard with goodies like a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and automatic emergency braking. Additionally, you can get things like surround-view parking camera system, front parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist, parallel and perpendicular park assist etc.
2021 Lincoln Nautilus Engine
As we already mentioned, the 2021 Lincoln Nautilus would definitely need a performance version. One of the engines that come to our minds is a new 3.0-liter V6. However, the company is still quiet on this matter, so we can only count on two familiar options for not. Base models are equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo-four. It is good for about 250 horsepower, which is more than enough for a daily ride.
For those who want better dynamics, the optional 2.7-liter V6 is a far better choice, as it delivers pretty respectable 335 horsepower. Both engines come with a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to front wheels.

2021 Lincoln Nautilus Release Date and Price
Despite the possible updates, we are pretty sure that the 2021 Lincoln Nautilus won’t hit the market much earlier than usual. We expect to see it sometime in the last quarter of the year. When it comes to the price, the current model starts at around 41.000 dollars and we don’t expect bigger changes in the future, at least when it comes to base models.
