It is not available yet, but the sales of the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer are starting soon. The company brought a new crossover that will cost under $20,000. A new lineup of small engines will make this model perfect for starters and young buyers. Although subcompact, GM is promising a lot of space inside. The top price, if you decide to pack the Trailblazer with all available options, won’t exceed $28,000. This is the MSRP without destination and other charges, though.
The return of the nameplate follows the same way of the larger Blazer SUV. Trailblazer used to be a mid-size vehicle, replaced by Chevrolet Traverse. Now, the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer comes back as an all-new model, without too many similarities with its predecessor. Still, we believe the GM will make a strong impact since this company is among the best-sellers in the subcompact segment. Trailblazer is a sportier and more attractive model which is there to conquer.

2021 Chevy Trailblazer Engines and Specs
There are two engines available for the crossover utility vehicle. Base trims will offer a 1.2-liter displacement capable to produce 137 horsepower. A three-cylinder unit is going to be very efficient. Outputs are still unavailable, but you can expect surprising numbers when EPA unveils fuel economy and emission ratings. Front-wheel drive is a default setup and the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer will also offer an all-wheel drive. This upgrade will cost you $2,000 and it is not available with the base L trim.
A 1.3-liter powerplant is either optional for L, LS, and LT models, or standard for Activ and RS. This is again a three-cylinder mill with exceptional efficiency and power output. The small engine can return 155 hp. All-wheel drive is optional all across the lineup, even for the off-road oriented Trailblazer Activ model.
No Word on the Hybrid Drivetrain
The world where General Motors needs a huge help is still without its models. We can’t find hybrid SUVs and crossovers by this carmaker, while most other companies are already in the market. Well, information about the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer is not complete yet. We expect an update after the launch, with news about a hybrid drivetrain.
Yes, both three-cylinder units will be very efficient. We can expect superb gas mileage. But, can Trailblazer match 42 mpg, offered by larger crossovers, Toyota Rav4 and Honda CR-V? No! So, a hybrid engine must be the priority for the GM if they want to stay competitive in the market.

2021 Chevy Trailblazer SS
Hybrid is definitely a must-have. But, more attention draws a possible comeback of the SuperSport badge. We are listening to rumors about Silverado truck, that used to offer this package. With the comeback of the Blazer SUV, sources started to inform about the performance-tuned version with 400+ horsepower. The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer SS is another favorite to revive the family of high-performance models by General Motors. Still, the manufacturer is still silent about these rumors. The SS model might arrive after the sales start of the base offer.

2021 Chevy Trailblazer Price
The manufacturer released the pricing for the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer. Now we have to wait for sales to be launched. The base model is just shy of $20,000. However, when you add all charges, the price will definitely be over $21k. The L package is not available with the all-wheel drive. The LS costs $2,500 more, while the AWD and a 1.3 engine put another two grands into the price. The LT model starts at $24,500 with a 1.2 engine.
Two top tiers for the upcoming Trailblazer will be Activ and RS. The first one uses the larger displacement and it is equipped with the off-road gear. On the other hand, the RS is a sportier version, with more cosmetic and aesthetic upgrades. Both of these have the same price ($26,400) and they come with 2WD, with an all-wheel drive being an optional upgrade for $1,500.
When Will the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer be Available?
The crossover was announced a few months ago. However, fans have to wait a bit to see the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer at dealerships. The carmaker announced the start of sales for the first quarter of 2020. We’ve reached the end of February, but the Trailblazer is not available for purchase yet. It is early for the 2021 year models to come out, but General Motors wants to be ahead of the competition. On the other hand, it is a double-edged sword – Ford, FCA, and Japanese carmakers can see what Chevy has to offer and react. The Trailblazer will see the competition in Nissan Rogue Sport, and smaller CUVs – Jeep Renegade, Toyota C-HR, and Honda HR-V.
