The Juke is one of those crossovers that made an instant success. Introduced in 2011, it quickly became a best-seller. Of course, there are several good reasons for that, but its interesting styling is definitely the most important one. Compared to most rivals, this crossover came with an uncommon, lifestyle design, with attractive funky lines. Eight years later, we are waiting for some changes. Despite some sources suggested that there won’t be a second generation, most of us were always aware that Nissan can’t afford such luxury, to lose hundreds of thousands of units sold per year. Therefore, the 2020 Nissan Juke is definitely coming completely redesigned. Latest reports suggest it will hit the market this summer.
At this point, we are pretty sure about many things, mainly in terms of technical characteristics. On the other storyline, the company still keeps aesthetics as a secret. We have no doubt that all fans are eagerly waiting to see how the new model is going to look like.
2020 Nissan Juke Redesign
The 2020 Nissan Juke redesign is about to bring a lot of novelties. At this point, we can only focus on the technical aspect of the new model. Of course, it will ride on a new platform. We are pretty sure it will be the company’s new version of a familiar CMF-B architecture, which already underprints the new, fifth generation of the popular subcompact hatch Renault Clio. The new platform will bring a lot of benefits. Of course, we count on all those improvements in terms of driving dynamics, efficiency, weight reduction, and similar things. However, there is much more than that. This platform supports all kinds of electrifications. Therefore, we expect to see the 2020 Nissan Juke with various powertrain options, including hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and even all-electric models.
2020 Nissan Juke Styling
Surprisingly, this aspect of the 2020 Nissan Juke is still a mystery. Despite many sources claim that the new generation is in an advanced stage of development, we still can’t find a camouflaged testing mule on the road. This leaves us speculations only but we definitely won’t go too much in deep. At this point, we can only presume that the new model will continue with an unconventional approach. Still, it is hard to guess will the 2020 Nissan Juke follow the path of the original and come with evolutionary changes, or Nissan is about to surprise us with something completely new, once again. In any case, the new model shouldn’t stick too closely to the brand’s design language, though we won’t exclude cues of the familiar V-Motion grille and similar design solutions.
2020 Nissan Juke Interior
When it comes to interior design, we can only talk about the most basic things. Just like the original model, the 2020 Nissan Juke will also be a small, subcompact crossover. With such modest dimensions, it definitely won’t feature too much space on the inside. The second row will probably be tight, as well as the cargo area.
When it comes to the interior styling, we expect that the dashboard will be quite distinctive, once again. This will probably also include some interesting color combinations and plenty of interesting details.
2020 Nissan Juke Engines
When it comes to the powertrain lineup, we are pretty sure that the new 2020 Nissan Juke will come with a new 1.3-liter turbo engine in the offer. This new engine comes in three output variants, with either 115, 140 or 160 horsepower. We are pretty sure that all three versions will be in the offer. When it comes to engines from the current lineup, we are pretty sure that a familiar 1.6-liter unit will carry on. In the current model, it delivers 188 horsepower and we expect a slight power boost for this occasion.
Of course, we count on a diesel option as well. Of course, that will be a familiar dCi engine, which should also come with some revisions for a slight power boost.
As we already mentioned, the new 2020 Nissan Juke will be based on a new version of the CMF-B platform. This architecture can support various kinds of electrifications. Therefore, we are pretty sure that hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions will be available in the near future as well.
Some reports even suggest an all-electric version, with the drivetrain borrower from the popular electric car, Nissan Leaf, which is good for about 150 horsepower and delivers a pretty long range.
2020 Nissan Juke Release Date and Price
As we already mentioned, all reports suggest that the 2020 Nissan Juke will come this summer. Does this mean a launch or just a premiere? We can’t say for sure at this moment. When it comes to the price, we expect that base versions won’t be much more expensive compared to the current model, which starts at around 17.000 dollars.
