Just like in the mainstream segment, crossovers took over the premium market as well. Pretty much every major luxury carmaker has or will soon have at least one crossover in its offer. Some of the carmakers already established their positions on the market and prepare just updates for the next year. On the other side, there is also a fine number of brand-new models to come by the end of this year. Some of the most interesting novelties will be a model called Genesis GV80, which will be the first SUV from Hyundai’s luxury brand Genesis.
Also, several famous carmakers that were typically known for exotic sports cars are working on SUV models. This includes even companies like Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Lotus. Some reports even suggest an SUV version of the famous muscle car Chevy Camaro.
On the other side, some carmakers are preparing updates for their recently-introduced SUVs. For example, both Audi and BMW are preparing hi-performance versions of their new models.
Summa summarum, count on a lot of exciting novelties in the future.
2020 Genesis GV80
One of the most interesting premieres for the next year will be the all-new 2020 Genesis GV80. After a concept version that came last year, we are about to see a production model soon. The testing model has been spotted on the road and it looks like it will stick pretty closely to the concept version, despite it still wears a complete cover. Both exterior and interior feature complete camouflage. So, it is hard to say whether some unique details from the concept will find the place in the production version or not.
At this point, we know that the new model will feature a little bit bigger rear window and that the interior will be based on the G80 sedan. When it comes to the powertrain, V6 and V8 versions will be ready for the initial launch. On the other side, a hybrid version is expected in the future as well.

2020 Alfa Romeo Kamal
After a great success of the company’s very first SUV, Stelvio, we are about to see two more in the near future. One of them will be a new flagship crossover that will be called Castelo, while the other one is about to come as 2020 Alfa Romeo Kamal. This will be a new entry-level model, which will ride on some kind of a shortened Giorgio platform. In terms of the styling, it will follow the company’s current design language and feature a similar look as the Stelvio, just in a smaller package.
When it comes to the powertrain, a mightful 2.9-liter V6 Quadrifoglio definitely seems like a too much for this vehicle, so we presume it will stick to FCA’s familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four units, while the European version should be available in a diesel version, as well as with some smaller gasoline engine. The 2020 Alfa Romeo Kamal will compete with Audi Q3, BMW X1, and similar ones.

2020 Aston Martin Varekai
SUVs are becoming the most important segment even among super-luxury carmakers such as Aston Martin. The British company is in the final stage of developing the very first SUV, which will come as the 2020 Aston Martin Varekai, if we can rely on the latest reports. Allegedly, the new model will take a lot of inspiration from the DBX concept. Still, the company promises a lot of novelties, never seen before in any Aston Martin model. This primarily refers to the platform, as the 2020 Aston Martin Varekai is about to ride on a completely new one, which will be used for other models in the future as well.
Also, count on a new design language and interior design, although the famous grille shape should remain. Finally, the powertrain department will consist of AMG’s 4.0-liter V8 and Aston Martin’s 5.2-liter V12 engine. Expect to see the new model by the end of the year.

2020 BMW X5 M
After the recent redesign, the second production year will bring to us a hi-performance version of the new crossover, under the famous “M” badge. The new version has been spotted on testing at the Nurburgring track and we can notice a fine amount of upgrades, despite the camouflage. Of course, this includes new styling details as well, but more important are those mechanical updates. We are about to see all those modifications that are typical for models under this badge. The first thing that comes to mind is a new 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, which debuted last year in the new M5 model, which delivers around 600 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. It comes with 8-speed transmission and a new version of the company’s familiar RWD-based all-wheel drive. Of course, there is also a new suspension, which lowers the 2020 BMW X5 M for a bit.

2020 BMW X7 M
This year will definitely be great for all car enthusiast and fans of the Bavarian carmaker. Another M-badged version is about to come, this time reserved for the company’s new flagship model, the X7. Expect all those upgrades that are typical for the company’s hi-performance division. First of all, the new 2020 BMW X7 M should come with a new 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, which delivers around 600 horsepower. Such amount of power should be enough to ensure 0-60 time in about 4.5 seconds. Also, count on retuned suspension, with upgraded dampers, M Sport differential and brakes etc. In terms of visual upgrades, the new model will come with new bodywork, with new bumpers, upgraded grille etc. On the inside, count on typical upgrades that include new seats, lots of carbon fiber, Alcantara leather, new instrument cluster etc.

2020 Camaro SUV
Things are definitely going crazy on the automotive markets these days. After we heard from Ford officials that the company is considering a Mustang-like SUV, it looks like Chevy is already working on something similar. Latest reports suggest that the 2020 Camaro SUV is about to come. Of course, it would come in the form of a concept, while the production version would have to wait for a couple of more years. The 2020 Camaro SUV should feature a pretty similar body to the current sports coupe, with much higher ground clearance and details like plastic fenders and underbody protection that will accentuate the model’s SUV character. Besides the new body style, we could see changes under the hood as well. Although it is just a rumor at the moment, we must mention that some reports suggest an all-electric drivetrain for this occasion.

2020 Ferrari SUV
After Lamborghini, Maserati, Bentley and Rolls Royce, Ferrari will launch an SUV model as well. At this point, we know that the new model will probably be called Ferrari Purosangue. It looks like the production won’t start in the next couple of years, but we expect to see a concept version maybe already in the next year, simply called 2020 Ferrari SUV. There’s no doubt that the famous Italian carmaker will aim for its biggest rival Lamborghini, which already offers a model called Urus, which is currently the fastest SUV in the world. However, Ferrari will most likely design something a little bit smaller and also more agile. Latest reports also suggest that the company’s first-ever SUV could come with a hybrid powertrain.

2020 Lotus SUV
The British carmaker hasn’t been very active recently but it looks like something big is cocking. According to the latest reports, Lotus is another sports carmaker that plans to introduce an SUV. Naturally, the company sees this as a great opportunity for the sales boost. In practice, this means more resources in the future. It would be very interesting to see how the company, which is primarily known for lightweight and dynamic cars, can deal with a challenge like this. Therefore, we presume the new SUV will be compact in size, designed in the company’s typical manner. Count on the company’s recognizable aesthetical approach, while the roofline should come in a today-popular, coupe manner. Under the hood, the 2020 Lotus SUV should continue with Toyota’s well-known 3.5-liter V6. However, many reports also suggest hybrid and diesel versions in the offer.

2020 Jaguar I Pace
After the recent launch, the 2020 Jaguar I Pace is expected to carry on in the pretty much same way. The new compact SUV features an all-electric drivetrain and its main quality refers to excellent performances. There are two electric motors which ensure a combined output of almost 400 horsepower. Such numbers are enough to provide 0-60 sprint in about 4.5 seconds. Besides amazing acceleration, this electric crossover also offers a very long range. which goes up to 240 miles. The next year could possibly bring an optional battery with more capacity, which would mean even more miles on a single charge. Of course, this model offers much more than just amazing performances. The cabin is very elegant and features pretty high overall quality. The next year could also bring a couple of additions in terms of standard equipment. Expect to see the new model sometime late in the year.

2020 Audi RS Q8
This year, the company from Ingolstadt has finally entered the segment of mid-size coupe crossover. The brand-new Q8 came last year and it competes in the class that was established by the BMW X6. For the second production year, the company prepares a hi-performance version, which will come as 2020 Audi RS Q8. The famous RS badge usually means a lot of modifications and this one definitely won’t be an exception.

First of all, count on a lot of mechanical upgrades. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is a new engine. This model should feature a familiar 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. For this occasion, it will feature around 600 horsepower. Besides the new engine, this version will come with various kinds of upgrades in terms of chassis and suspension. Finally, count on various aesthetical upgrades. The 2020 Audi RS Q8 should feature a completely new bodywork, which new parts like bumpers, wheels, color options, grille and much more. Also, count on several upgrades inside the cabin.
