The 2018 Mazda CX-3 is going to fill the spot in the subcompact crossover class of SUVs made by Japanese carmaker. After other companies released their models, or announced arrival of the vehicles in this class, Mazda developed new CX-3 and it is going to be more exciting than ever. New frame, which could be shared with current Mazda 2 car, is refreshment for lineup, and it could make crossover smaller than before. Engine room is also revisited and ready for launching, which will wait a bit while all other parts are done.

Under the hood of the 2018 Mazda CX-3 will be a 2.0-l engine with four-cylinders and output of near 150 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox with Sport mode and optional paddle shifters. This naturally aspired unit is ready to sprint to 60 mph in 8 seconds. Performance might not be the highlight, but new CX-3 crossover is going to have superb fuel economy. Some reports are telling that engineers are aiming 35 mpg or even more on highway. New SUV will be available in two and all-wheel drive system, at buyer’s choice.
2018 Mazda CX-3 redesign
The 2018 Mazda CX-3 is going to use more aluminum and other lightweight materials than ever. Nevertheless, most parts will be made of durable and rigid steel, which is much stronger and reliable. Some parts are using Skyactive styling, and it makes this crossover more optimal in performing. Base models are getting 16-inch steel wheels, and higher trims are coming with 18-inch alloys. Some of the notable features are 3 round vents and headlights from outside, and many other equipment inside the vehicle. These are seats and dashboard, leather is used for most of cabin upholstery, and with metallic details, it looks like more elegant.
2018 Mazda CX-3 price and release date
New 2018 Mazda CX-3 is coming together with two larger crossovers from same company CX-5 and CX-9. These SUVs are going to be available not before 2018, but unveiling could happen early next year. As current vehicle, new crossover won’t exceed $21,000 mark for base units.
