2017 Toyota Highlander

The Highlander, also known as Kruger for some markets, it is a mid-size crossover produced by Toyota. This model was originally introduced in 2000 at the New York Auto Show. So far, we saw a three generations of it. Current model came in 2013 as 2014 year model and it didn’t suffer any modification so far. However, if we considered that 2017 Toyota Highlander will be a fourth year of production of current model, some modifications seem possible. Although there is no official information, we believe that this model could come as a mid-cycle refresh, which will include several changes, both in visual and technical aspects.

The current generation of this excellent crossover came two years ago and it is expected that 2017 Toyota Highlander will keep the same base characteristics. It will continue to ride on the company’s “K” platform, which is used for some other Toyota and Lexus models too. However, some modifications are possible, when it is about visual appearance. We still don’t know exact details, but we can presume that most of the changes will come at the front. The 2017 Highlander could come with refreshed front fascia, which could include modified grille and headlights. Besides those ones, some changes are expected at the other areas of the vehicle too. The cabin of new Toyota Highlander is expected to come with improvements also. At this point, we can’t tell will it include some styling modifications, but it is pretty much for sure that we will see many improvements when it is about hi-tech features.

When it is about powertrain, we don’t expect changes for 2017 Toyota Highlander. It will come in three variants, just like current model. The base model will be powered by 2.7 liter, which will be only available in FWD configuration. There is another petrol engine, a 3.5 liter V6, which is good for 245 hp and which will be also available in AWD configuration. Finally, 2017 Highlander will be available as hybrid. This configuration is consisted of same petrol engine and multiple electric motors and battery pack. The total output is around 280 horsepower.

2017 Toyota Highlander release date and price

The 2017 Toyota Highlander is will come next year, but more precise date is still unknown. Price is expected to remain unchanged, which means around 30.000 dollars for a base model.
