2017 Renault Koleos
New 2017 Renault Koleos will lead entire crossover range from French manufacturer. Company decided to put more effort in development of this class, so it could keep pace with their major competitors Nissan, Honda and Mazda. Not only upgrading compact Koleos SUV, but Renault will try to reach more buyers with new models, Kwid, Captur, and Kadjar. When we are talking about Kaleos, it is going to be larger, with cabin revision, while few units are offered to be installed under its hood.
2017 Renault Koleos platform
A lot of changes and innovations will be implemented to keep 2017 Renault Koleos interesting. Most interesting change should be new layout in the cabin, since this compact crossover now can take seven passengers. Vehicle uses Common Module Family (CMF) platform, made from alliance of Nissan and French carmaker. This architecture saved a lot to both company, and it is used as well for Qashqai and X-Trail from Japanese side, and Kadjar from Renault. With this concept, 2017 Kaleos will be 0.5 m longer, and now it will be over 5 m.
2017 Renault Koleos features
Not only new layout, but also many new features and accessories inside 2017 Renault Koleos will be installed. High quality materials are used to equip cabin, including leather and wooden details. Leather covers seats and steering wheel. Infotainment system is R-Link, with large touch-screen display and premium audio system. Driver is going to get help from assist features – blind-spot warning, automatic braking and parking assist.
2017 Renault Koleos engine
Since Nissan and Renault share their platforms, some engines will be also present at different models of both producers. So it is with 2017 Renault Koleos, which could have 2.0-l inline-four drivetrain under its hood, same unit used by Nissan X-Trail. This powertrain is capable to deliver 145 hp. Bigger, 2.5-l I-4 motor can produce 170 hp. The 2017 Koleos will also get diesel variant. It will be 1.6-l inline-four unit with 130 horses. It is not excluded that Kaleos could borrow powerplant from new Renault Kadjar, 1.2-l I-4, with 130 hp. All available engines are going to send power to a 6-speed manual or EDC automatic gearbox, which transforms it to front wheels by default, or all wheels optionally.
