The legendary G-Wagen is considered as one of the most recognizable models of the German car maker. It is also one of the longest-running models in company’s history. It was originally launched in 1979. During these 36 years, we saw numerous changes and updates, but base characteristics remained the same. Last year we saw a redesign of the cabin, so many parts that left over for the 80’s were finally replaced. According to the latest reports, a whole model will be completely redesigned soon. The 2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class is expected to come completely different that current model, with new chassis, completely different appearance both outside and inside, new engines and many other significant changes.
2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class design
The 2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class will come with changes that we didn’t see so far on this model. New model is expected to come with plenty of significant changes. One of the most important ones will be a new chassis. New model will come with significant weight loss, according to some reports around 400 pounds. This will provide massive improvements in many aspects and also leave a space for some 6-cylinder unit to be offered. When it is about visual appearance, 2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class will come significantly changed, with completely new look. However, company’s CEO Dieter Zetsche told that the iconic square design language will remain. What this exactly means, we really don’t know, but we have big expectations from new model. We also hope that 2017 G-Class will continue to carry the spirit of the legendary original.
