Current version of a compact SUV Lincoln MKC is going to be revisited and launched during next year as 2017 model. This crossover was accepted well in market, and according to first impressions, it is going to be very popular. The MKC segment was released for the first time in 2014, and next model is going out as 2017 Lincoln MKC. Updates on it will be most visible in cabin, but there are also performance boost and exterior appearance refreshment. What is also very interesting is a price, which shouldn’t move northern too much, since there are no radical moves and changes on the model.
2017 Lincoln MKC engine
Two engine options are available for current premium SUV from Lincoln. Compact crossover is equipped either with 2.0-l, or 2.3-l displacement. Base models get smaller EcoBoost unit with turbocharger. This I-4 drivetrain delivers 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. These numbers are exceptional for compact crossovers. But, 2017 Lincoln MKC can do it even better with 2.3-l EcoBoost powerplant, which is ready to deliver 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque. Both drivetrains are going to be mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. This gearbox will be available on Ford vehicles soon, and it replaces old 6-speed box.
New transmission should improve mileage, which is expected around 23 mpg combined. Smoother shifting and better use of torque are also improved. Front-wheel drive is standard on 2.0-l model, while 2.3-l could have AWD as its standard offer.
2017 Lincoln MKC styling
Changes on design of the 2017 Lincoln MKC are minor, but still enough for old users to feel like they are in refreshed vehicle. Premium crossover gets new LED headlights, and with updated grille, front part of the MKC is almost redesigned. Changes are similar to these made on new Continental vehicle.
New wheels are possible for higher-end models, while side and rear are almost unchanged. The 2017 MKC will be available in few more color schemes. Interior is highlighted with new Sync 3 infotainment system, which includes navigation and few applications compatible with both Android and Apple systems. Interior features are mostly unchanged, with some details added to improve impression about premium crossover.
