When you speak about GMC, it is clear that it is all about SUV. This division of General Motors is known for making excellent SUVs and crossovers of all types. One of its top and most recognizable models is Yukon. It is a full-size SUV, which was originally launched in 1992. During these almost two and a half decades, we saw four generations of this great SUV. Current model came last year as 2015 year model. Since it is still a very fresh model, it is hard to expect that company will change something in near future. However, 2017 GMC Yukon will still come with some modifications, minor but notable.
2017 GMC Yukon specs
As we already mentioned, this full-size SUV came just recently so you shouldn’t expect something bigger, when it is about changes, in next few years. It will keep the same base characteristics such as new K2UG platform, outside and inside styling, engines etc. However, some of the smaller modifications for 2017 GMC Yukon are expected. Company already prepares some modifications for 2016 year model. We will see some new colors in offer, some new standard features, new entertainment systems etc. If we take in case all of these, there is no reason to not expect similar kind of changes for 2017 GMC Yukon. What exactly to expect is still unknown. We can only speculate about possible changes at this moment. However, it is for sure that we won’t see some bigger changes yet, so we can expect things like new standard features, some new hi-tech system and maybe some minor design tweaks.
2017 GMC Yukon engine
The 2017 GMC Yukon keeps in the same way when it is about engines. There will be two units in offer. The base one is a 5.3 liter V8, with 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The other variant is a 6.2 liter V8, which is good for 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of max torque. Gearbox is 8-speed automatic, but we should mention that company prepares new transmission for the near future, so we can see it already in 2017 Yukon.
2017 GMC Yukon release date and price
The 2017 GMC Yukon will come somewhere in 2016, probably in last quarter of the year. When it is about prices, we expect no changes, so it should go between 48.000 and 71.000 dollars.

Please make a change to the back end of the vehicle so it doesn’t look so much like a hearse. I used to trade every 2 years but am holding on to my 2013 until something is done with the outside back of the vehicles. I truly hate it and have even contemplated buying an Escalade since the outside doesn’t look so much like a hearse. I always buy black and have been buying both Denali trucks and Yukon XL’s. I think you made a big mistake on the outside appearance and focused too much on the inside. The first impression is from the outside.

I have to agree…. the black version certainly does look like a hearse, and I don’t like the shape. I wish they would come up with a nice blue color. My older suburban has more cargo space than the new ones.
Tyler
I think they look so much better than that piece of shit 2013 model.

Please, for the love of all things good and holy, please give us a blue color, FFS!

dont buy a escalade i had a yukon denali 2015 and traded for a escalade 2016 a big mistake
Susan
Why is it a big mistake?

I too hate the funeral look! I have a 2013 and the funeral look is holding me back. I would rather hold onto my 80,000 mile Denali XL.
LUCIANO FAZIO
WTF ….. WERE ARE IN 2017 AND STILL NO YUKON DENALI WITH DIESEL ENGINE, AND STILL THE OLD 1990’S SUNROOF, THEY SHOULD COME WITH PANO ROOF AND DIESEL ENGINE, KEEP SLEEPING GMC

I don’t know why they made most SUV’s loo like a hearse. When I first saw the 2016 Tahoe’s I thought the same thing. I just can’t see buying the hearse style suv. Escalades use to look so beautiful, now they are just the same as any suv in new design. They all need a make over.

Stay away from all 2015 and up full size suv’s. They are a piece of shit. You will have nothing but problems like I had with my 2015 yukon xl. I bought it brand new and 4 injectors gone at 30,000kms, air leaks all through door panels, trunk not opening, sunroof leaking water when it rains.Im now suing General Motors after being in the shop 34 times for defects, recalls etc. GM quality has gone down most of all the parts are all made in Mexico on the new 2015 and up models.

When will you change the Hearst look in the SUV Dinali’s I think it’s a great SUV but the outside is so dead looking
