Italian carmaker is becoming serious competitor in crossover class with new 2017 Fiat Freemont. After many years carmaker stepped into new market and slowly, it is going to top. They learn fast and although new Freemont can’t threaten top models, especially German and US, it is elbowing the way with new SUV. Complete family car, at lower price is main advantage. However, design and the look of crossover are not bad and we believe this project is going to be successful experiment of Chrysler company in cooperation with Italian manufacturer.

Under the hood of the 2017 Fiat Freemont is a 2.0-l Multi Jet II powertrain. Unit is paired with 6-speed automatic transmission and available drive systems will be 4×2 and AWD. Manual transmission is also going to be available in some models. Total output of this drivetrain is 140 hp, while there are some other possibilities to boost it to 170 hp. New Freemont is very economical, and it is another advantage over its competitors. There is possibility for two companies to develop another engine for new SUV.
