The SUV model Captiva that was produced by famous US carmaker Chevrolet will be revisited for upcoming models. However, new generation and bigger redesign is expected in 2019. For 2017 Chevrolet Captiva, there won’t be radical changes and we can expect similar model to current vehicle. However, slight modifications are planned for mid-size crossover, so family car could be safer, more comfortable and reliable. There is no info about plans for new engines, so performance of the new Captive should be similar as for last few models.
2017 Chevrolet Captiva engine
Ever since its launch in 2006, Captiva had constant improvements. Now, for the upcoming models, it is likely that engineers decided to offer crossover with efficient 2.2-l inline-four diesel engine. This unit can provide 163 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque. It is the most economical model in 2017 Chevrolet Captiva lineup, but not the most powerful. Bigger drivetrains are 2.4-l four-cylinder petrol powertrain which can produce 170 hp and similar torque. Last, but not the least, is 3.0-l V6 with 250 ponies and significantly higher torque level. Front-wheel drive is standard, while AWD can be purchased, and transmission for all engines is 6-speed auto. Estimated fuel economy is around 20 mpg for city ride and 28 mpg on highway run.
2017 Chevrolet Captiva redesign
Exterior look of the 2017 Chevrolet Captiva is still being modified. However, we could predict wipes of its outlook, as well as for some interior features, thanks to the recent spy photos of this crossover. We spotted same dual exhaust pipes, same as for previous model. Grille could be seen through heavy camouflage and it is more striking. Daytime running LED lights will be installed and bumper could get splitter, according to rumors. This should lower the noise at higher speeds. New wheels and rims could be placed on the 2017 Captiva for better visual styling.
Inside the cabin more changes could be seen. New materials for door trims and seats could be used, and dashboard will get refreshment. Infotainment system is improved with new audio system, 8-inch touch-screen display and navigation.
