Bavarian car maker prepares a plenty of novelties for next year. One of the biggest ones is new X3. This compact luxury crossover is considered as one of the leaders in this segment. It was originally released in 2003. Second generation of it came in 2010 and it is still under production. According to the latest reports, third generation model will come next year as 2017 BMW X3. New model is in a final phase of development and test mule has been spotted already. New model will come completely redesigned, with new platform, new look, engines and many other.

The 2017 BMW X3 will come completely redesigned. It will feature plenty of novelties. One of the most important changes will be revisited platform. New body will be made of lighter materials such as HSS, aluminum etc. This means that third generation of this crossover should come with some weight savings. We also expect to see completely new look. Testing model has been spotted, but it is still completely camouflaged. However, it is pretty much for sure that company will not make some radical changes. The 2017 BMW will come with similar visual characteristics, but with plenty of new details, which will boost models already attractive appearance. The 2017 BMW X3 will be also available with six-cylinder variant, which will come tuned up to somewhere around 360 horses. It is also expected that new model will be available in M package, which will come with more than 425 horses. According to the latest reports, 2017 X3 will be also available in hybrid variant. It will use similar configuration that is found in bigger X5. Drivetrain should be consisted of the 2.0 liter turbo engine and electric motor with 94 horses and 184 lb-ft, while total output should be around 242 hp and 295 lb-ft.
