This compact luxury crossover originally came in 2009. It is the smallest model from Bavarian car maker, when it is about crossover. Few months ago we saw a 2016 year model. It came completely redesigned with plenty of changes in all aspects. It features completely new styling, new interior, new engines and many others. When it is about 2017 BMW X1, it is expected that all of the characteristics will remain pretty much the same. However, since BMW usually launches its performance variants in the second year of production, we are expecting that M variant will be ready for 2017 X1.
2017 BMW X1 details
This model came redesigned just recently so bigger modifications are not expected. The 2017 BMW X1 will keep the same basic look, which already sets new standards when it is about sports character, in this segment. It features slightly modified look compared to previous-generation model, but it is full of details that make this model look much sportier. The new M variant will look even more aggressive. It will come with tweaks like new bumpers, exhaust tips and similar stuff, which will make new model look even more attractive. Same thing is expected with interior. The base model will remain unchanged, while the new BMW X1 M will come with plenty of details that are characteristic for other M-badged models of the company too. It will come with sportier steering wheel, more supportive seats and a set of M-characteristic gauges. Of course, it is also expected that 2017 X1 M will come with much longer list of standard features.
2017 BMW X1 engine
For now, North American model is available with 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that makes 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. If we consider that all of the main competitors have its variants with more than 340 horses, it is easy to conclude that arrival of 2017 BMW X1 M is necessary. The exact engine is still unknown but we expect max output around 350 horses. Things like new transmission, suspension and similar stuff are also expected.
2017 BMW X1 release date and price
The 2017 BMW X1 is expected to come late next year. The base model will go around 31.000, while high-performance M variant will probably go around 50.000 dollars.
