From Bavarian car maker you can always expect to see something new. This time German manufacturer of luxury cars plans to introduce an all-new model. According to the reports, it will be the smallest crossover in company’s line up, even smaller than X1. The exact name of this new entry-level model is still unknown. Since X1 model already exists, it is pretty much for sure that company will not follow its usual naming strategy. The X0 doesn’t seem possible at all. According to the latest reports, new model will be named as 2017 BMW Urban Cross.
2017 BMW Urban Cross redesign
The 2017 BMW Urban Cross will be a completely new model. It will be a new entry-level crossover of the company. It will be made on the BMW’s new UKL platform that is used for models like 2 Series Active Tourer and both the three- and five-door variants of the new Mini Hardtop. The exact design of 2017 Urban Cross is still unknown, but it is expected that new model will be long around 157 inches, which is few inches shorter than Mini Countryman. When it is about visual appearance, it will come in the company’s recognizable style. We will see familiar front fascia, while roof-line will come in coupe-like style, just like on X6 model.
Same thing is expected with interior. The 2017 BMW Urban Cross will come with the cabin that will feature similar styling as bigger and more expensive models from line up and it will also adopt a plenty of company’s latest achievements in terms of advanced technologies.

Just like all models of Bavarian manufacturer, 2017 BMW Urban Cross will be also offer in plenty variants when it is about engines. It will be offered in several petrol and diesel variants, both with three- and four-cylinder engines. According to some reports, new model will also come in hybrid and also in all-electric variant. This crossover is designed to compete with other mini crossovers on the market, but the model that it seen as arch rival is an upcoming crossover from Audi called Q1. The exact release date is still unknown. It is expected that 2017 BMW Urban Cross will be presented next year, probably at the Paris Motor Show. It will be available probably in early 2017.
