2016 Volvo XC60
Swedish car maker introduced this model in 2007 as a concept. One year later, this compact luxury crossover entered serial production. It is a company’s entry-level model, when it is about crossovers. Original model is still in production. The second generation of this excellent crossover is in development and it is expected to come in a year or two. Until then, we won’t see many changes, which basically mean that 2016 Volvo XC60 will come with the pretty much same characteristics as previous-year model.
2016 Volvo XC60 details
As we already said, 2016 Volvo XC60 will feature pretty much the same characteristics as previous-year model. It will have pretty much the same characteristics as original model. It will also include all the changes that came with mid-cycle refresh. This update was about a year and a half ago and they included mostly visual modifications. Most of changes, naturally, came at the front end, which includes new headlights and new grille. Compared to original model, there is also loss of black cladding along the lower doorsills. Changes at the rear end were minor and included revisited exhaust tips and taillights.
When it is about interior, refreshed model came with several changes also. Some of the most notable ones were new 7-inch display, new materials and new dashboard trim. It also came with paddle shifter, but available only in T6 models. Since this Swedish manufacturer is known for excellent safety features, we should mention some of them. Some of the most notable ones are whiplash protection system, side impact protection system, roll stability control, dynamic stability and traction control, collision warning with brake support and many others.
2016 Volvo XC60 engine
When it is about engines, 2016 Volvo XC60 will continue to be offered in three variants. When it is about petrol engines, there will be two variants in offer. The first one is a 2.0 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 240 horses and 258 lb-ft of torque. There will be also a 3.0 liter turbocharged inline-6 with 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. Company will also offer one diesel engine. It is Volvo’s well known 2.5 liter 5-cylinder engine which outputs 250 hp and 266 lb-ft of max torque. All engines will be available with either manual or automatic transmission.
2016 Volvo XC60 release date and price
The 2016 XC60 will come later this year with pretty much the same price as previous-year model, which means around 36.000 dollars for base model.
