This popular VW’s model originally came in 2002. It is a mid-size crossover, which combines great design, performance and quality, recognizable by this brand. Current model came in 2010. It is based on company’s PL71 platform, so it shares many of characteristics with models like Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne. Last year we saw a refreshed model, and we expect that 2016 Volkswagen Touareg will come with pretty much the same characteristics. It will feature new outside look, which is characterized by some smaller tweaks, mostly at the front. Interior suffered more changes. There are new color options for the leather trim, better quality materials and slightly revisited dashboard, which now features more chrome accents. On new control board you will notice new rotary knob, which operates with plenty of vehicle functions. There are also plenty of drive-assistance systems. Some of them are camera monitoring, lane keep assist, blind spot warning, adaptive cruise control, pre- and post-crash protection systems etc. All of these systems are available as standard features. The 2016 Touareg will also feature Area View with four cameras, Adaptive Air Suspension with continuous damping control and Adaptive Body Roll Compensation.
2016 Volkswagen Touareg engine
When it is about engines, lineup is expected to remain unchanged. The base 2016 Volkswagen Touareg will be powered by 3.6 V6 gasoline engine with 276 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. There will be also a diesel engine in offer. It is a 3.0 liter TDI engine with 240 horses and 406 lb-ft. Finally, there is a hybrid model, which is consisted of 3.0 liter petrol engine and electric motor and has total output of 375 horsepower and 425 pound-feet of torque. All engines will be paired with company’s new 8-speed automatic transmission.

The 2016 Volkswagen Touareg is expected to come this fall. Price will remain pretty much unchanged, which means around 45.000 dollars for base model.
